Don’t know what to wear on your nails this festive season? I have the answer for you. From subtle to full on glitter and from festive red to deep and dark: anything goes this time of year really. These nail looks are easy to create and can amp up your look from sassy to classy in minutes.
1.) Every month is Oktoberfest

The easiest way to make a Christmas-y nail is by going for a solid dark red color. In the right like this polish looks like a deep, dark red with burgundy shimmer. In some light it may look black. I personally think this polish is classy and sophisticated looking. It will go perfectly with any Christmas outfit you may have in mind. Because of the unique shade it adds a bit of interest, without it being too dark.
2.) Glitter me if you can

This unique rose toned brass color is not only super sparkly, but also quite neutral. Hence the sparkle is what lifts this from a standard nude to a pretty, yet glittery nail. A pain to remove, obviously, but nothing says Christmas than a good deal of glitter. This polish was part of the Limited Edition Luxury Lacquers line, but Catrice do the same style of nail polish in different colors in their regular line now.
3.) Dark Dark Dark

If you prefer an even darker nail look than cult classic Lincoln Park after Dark would be a great option. However, there is one even better: it’s lesser known, yet probably even prettier sister, Lincoln Park at Midnight. This is a blackened purple. Which again, like Every Month is Oktoberfest, only shows up in certain lighting. Lincoln Park at Midnight is a full on cream as well, so there is no sparkle to be found. It’s color is super rich and dark and I love wearing it this time of year.
4.) Holo neutral

If you don’t like a full on glitter then a holographic glitter over a nude nail polish may be more up your street. This is one of my favorite ways of wearing glitter top coats. It’s quick, it’s easy, yet a bit more special looking than your average nude. This holographic shimmer changes color in the light but because it was put over a neutral base the sparkle isn’t as stark as when you put it over a black, blue or dark purple. That is still pretty of course, but I prefer this.
5.) Gold tip French

Who said a French manicure would be boring? You can easily create the style using a fun Christmas appropriate color and some glitter to create the nail tip. This stick shaped glitter was a bit difficult to manage at times, and I needed quite a lot of layers to get it this opaque. But if you find a good opaque gold glitter creating this will be a piece of cake.
6.) Red Sparks

Red = Christmas. Red + gold & red glitter = Christmas x 2. At least that’s what I thought when I bought this nail polish from Super Drug last October. Not only is this the first red sparkly shade I own, it is also the first jelly texture nail polish that I have found that goes on opaque. And because of that, it looks extra glossy. I think that this combined with a LBD at your Christmas party would make a grand combination.
With each nail look I am wearing my usual base and top coats: Trind Nail Repair and Sally Hansen Insta-Dry topcoat.
