LA Girl Pro Conceal Concealer Light Ivory

I am a sucker for concealer. Yes, I love my shadows and colorful make up products, but when it comes to base products, concealers are my jam. I am not much of a foundation girl. I will take a light coverage foundation over a full coverage one any day. But when it comes to concealer that’s what makes all the difference to me, which is the reason why I own quite a few concealers. I had heard great things about the LA Girl Pro Conceal Concealer so when I found it at a local store, I snatched one up and this is all that I have been using on my dark circles these past few weeks.

My initial impression of this product wasn’t very positive. I found the color too dark and disliked the consistency, but these past few weeks I haven’t been getting enough of this stuff. My tube is now halfway gone! I started using this again after running out of my NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer and I’ve been loving it ever since.

I bought this product at MakeUpby Tatou. This store opened in my town a few weeks ago, but they’ve also launched a webstore more recently. The LA Girl Pro Conceal Concealer contains 8 grams of product and costs €6.95. This makes it as affordable as the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer which I also love.

The LA Girl Pro Conceal concealer comes in a squeezable tube with a brush tip applicator. You can clearly see the color of the product in the tube, which is handy when selecting your shade. The MUA recommended Light Ivory and I couldn’t agree more. Light Ivory is the second to lightest shade in the range. In total, this concealer is available in a whopping 28 different shades. From a stark white to the deepest darkest skin tones are catered to with this product. Yay for inclusiveness in a make up line!

My favorite way of applying concealer is a doe foot applicator on a wand. This concealer uses a built in brush tip applicator. I was skeptical about this method at first, but I find it as hygienic and easy to use as a doe foot by now. When you squeeze the tube some of the product is dispensed onto the brush and you simply brush it onto your skin.

Now that I have used up half the tube I am finding it harder to squeeze out some product and the brush is completely saturated with product. So now there first appears a blob of product rather than the neat seeping of the product in the pictures above. However, because of the brush you will never apply too much product to a certain area.

Swatched you can see what I mean by this product being a tad dark for my liking at first. I always go very pale during winter and it takes months to become less pasty. I find therefore that this product suits me better after summer rather than before, which is when I first tried this.

The consistency of this product is quite thick, yet it is still easy to blend. It barely creases on me. It is not until many hours later, which is usually a full 12 hour workday that I feel this needs any touching up underneath my eyes. I also use this on other areas of my face that can use a little bit more coverage. It covers blemishes and redness very nicely and easily.

Nothing – foundation
Applied – Blended

On to the real test: application. What I love about this product is its peachy undertone. Because of this, the LA Girl Pro Conceal concealer easily cancels out any darkness in the undereye area. However, the color is also perfect for covering up any other spots that you feel need covering on the rest of the face.

As you can see in the picture, this concealer covers, brightens and just generally perks up the overall under eye area. I like blending this up towards the brow and really get into the inner corner. This way that hint of darkness in my deep set inner corners is also nicely brightened and more evened out.

Full face

Yes, I absolutely adore the LA Girl Pro Conceal concealer. I have not used anything else for close to 2 months now. It is not only affordable but works as well as much more expensive concealers.  What’s best is that this product is readily available to me, which most of my other favorite concealers are not. In short, I highly recommend this concealer. If you are still in the market for an affordable concealer that gets the job done, then this is a great one.

    • The store I got the concealer from has the foundation in stock as well, but I am always weary of trying new foundations. I desperately want to try the Urban Decay Naked Foundation tough.

  1. I’ve never tried it. I don’t think they even sell it here. My favourite concealer is Revlon Colorstay Concealer. I’ve gone through almost 4 tubes now. I have been thinking to venture out and try something new but then again, if something works, why to replace it. Like they say- don’t fix things that aren’t broken.

  2. […] I wrote a raving review of the LA Girl Proconceal concealer in Light Ivory a few weeks ago and I still love it. I have repurchased this shade and one shade lighter as the shade on this is a bit awkward and needs some getting used to. Even though it is light enough, it doesn’t look like it in the swatch or the tube. Yet still this is very brightening because of it’s peachy undertone. It works well when you blend it into the rest of your make up and I love using this all over my face to cover anything I need covering. You can find that glowing review here. […]

  3. […] LA Girl Pro Conceal HD Concealer – This is a concealer I used consistently for close to a year. I loved this so much, that I didn’t even switch it up for a second. It was nearly creaseless, it blended well and it covered what it needed to cover. Not everyone is a fan of the brush tip applicator but I find it very easy to use and it was what makes this one of my favorites. […]
