Make up has been a love of mine for some years now and that means that I own some make up products that have some dear memories attached to them. From my first face powder, to a bronzer that is too dark and orange, but that I did wear, to that eyeshadow palette I bought on vacation: I thought it would be fun to show you some make up memories.
Sephora & Pantone eyeshadow palette
Catrice The London Collection
Benefit Georgia Peach boxed powder
Bourjois Chocolate Bronzer
Benefit Smokin’ Eyes kit
Sephora & Pantone palette – I bought this in 2012 in Boston. My original plan was to buy a Kat Von D palette, but those just looked a bit drab color wise. I was looking for a more colorful palette and this just sucked me in. This was years ago, when I hadn’t tried as much as I have now. I wouldn’t buy this a second time, but since I bought this in Boston, on a fun vacation, I just can’t get rid of it. It simply takes me back to that trip every time I look at it and it has a very pretty shimmery sea foam green shade that I love wearing in the summer time.
Catrice The London Collection – Who remembers these limited edition Catrice palettes? This was called the Big City Collection I believe and the brand developed a palette according to different cities around the world. I believe there was also a Sydney, New York and Berlin palette. The palette comes with 2 blushes, 6 shadows, an eyeliner and a brush. The quality was a bit so-so, but this was the first time I walked into a store and found a pristine looking Catrice display. I felt very proud to have spotted this before everything was ransacked.
Benefit Georgia Peach boxed powder – Look at that OG product! I used to swear by all things Benefit. Simply because the only friend I knew who did make up, swore by it. Benefit is what ultimately got me started and I remember buying this in New York with my best friend way back in the day. I religiously wore this as a face powder, despite it actually being more of a blush. It has long since been discontinued, but I keep this just for memory’s sake.
Bourjois Chocolate Bronzer – Ah this product takes me right back: back to the time all my make up fit into one little make up bag. I think I bought this when I first looked into make up, but it may already be older and date back to my clubbing days in my late teens. I don’t remember buying it in any case, but I do remember seeing these around all the time. This was and still is way too dark and too orange for me, but it still holds a special place in my make up collection.
Benefit Smokin’ Hot kit – My long time favorite travel palette was this Benefit kit. It came with 3 eyeshadows, a black eye liner pencil, a brush, mini tweezers, a brow powder and a brow wax. This is one of those super beat up products that I don’t only keep around for the fact that I bought it in Harrod’s in London, but because I took it on pretty much every trip after that one. This is easily one of the most beat up make up products I own. But it’s been well loved.
