H&M Beauty blush

Shame on me! I’ve been a bad beauty blogger. Why? Because this review is so long overdue. I have had these products for close to four years and I just never got around to writing this up. And that even though one of these blushes is one of my all time favorites. What’s wrong with me? So even though I should have definitely made this blog post a long time ago, let’s not ramble and get down to business and on to the review.  H&M beauty blush review swatch cantaloupe tawny peach

Now my problem is that I am not 100% whether H&M still does these exact shades. What I am 100% sure of is that they still do very similar colors under a different name and that these retails for €9.95 each. Not too cheap, but also not terribly expensive and a good price point for a good product.

The Packaging

Can we just talk about the packaging for a minute? Because wow. Just to clarify: the H&M Beauty line was revamped long before Fenty Beauty came along. So this is kind of the OG hexagon shaped beauty packaging. The packaging is all plastic and a bit thin and there is no mirror though. Mine have never broken though and the packaging works just as well as any of my other blushes.

Cantaloupe

Cantaloupe is best described as a soft melon shade. What’s cool about both shades I am showing you is that both look like next to nothing special in the pan. It is on the cheek where these come to life. Cantaloupe is a great one if you like that bright peach tone and while I don’t love peachy blush shades on me, this is still one of the most flattering peachy toned blushes I own.

Tawny Peach

I am someone who loves a boring blush shade. Yes, there, I said it. And this is no different. Tawny Peach isn’t very peach and it also isn’t very tawny. What it is instead is a soft dusty rose with a hint of brown to it. It is one of those barely there blushes that look great on fair skin. On me this pulls very neutral but without looking like a bronzer as it still gives that hint of a rosy flush.

The Swatches

Cantaloupe is on the left and Tawny Peach is on the side. As the name suggests, these blushes are on the sheer side. I personally love a sheer blush formula. It means that you can never go overboard with these. They build up well though and I like how I can just go to town with a heavy hand with these and still not look like a clown.

What you don’t see in the pan, but you can see in the swatch is that these blushes have a slight sheen to them. And that is why I think these work so well. They have more of a satin finish which makes these super flattering and they wear well too.

The Application

Cantaloupe

Cantaloupe is a very pretty color. It is bright enough to add that bit of color, but it still doesn’t overpower whatever makeup you pair it with. This blush looks very natural and it is a great color to wear in the spring time. It works well with dark, smokey looks, but also natural everyday look. A great shade to wear.

Tawny Peach

Tawny Peach has more pigment to it, but I just absolutely adore this blush. It is neutral and rosy and just gorgeous. I don’t tend to have any noticeable wear on many of my blushes, but this is one that I reach for over and over and over again and thus the blush definitely doesn’t look pristine anymore. It just really adds the right amount and tone to my cheeks for a bit of much needed color in my face.

The Conclusion

As you can tell, I am loving these blushes. I use Tawny Peach a lot more than Cantaloupe but both are great shades. Yes, I feel that H&M Beauty blusher needed a bit of a rave as I no longer hear that many people talking about these products anymore. And that is a shame, because they definitely have some great products worth your money. Their blushes are one of those.

I have never tried anything from the H&M beauty line but I’m going to have to check it out. Tawny Peach looks right up my alley!

I tried these H&M blushes and I was really disappointed by them. I found they weren’t pigmented and faded quickly on my skin. I think the colour selection is a dream for fair toned skin though! 🙂

I like a blush that isn’t superpigmented. It quickly can look too much on me.

  9. […] H&M Beauty Blush Tawny Peach – It is no secret that one of my favorite blushes is this one. I love a natural blush color and this is the perfect shade. It has a bit of brown, a bit of peach and it is just a nice muted shade that adds just enough color to your cheeks. Rather than a flushed look, this gives a healthy bit of color that is something you just need when you have fair skin. Instead of a true pop of color, sometimes all you need is to add some color into your face and this will do that without making it look too bronze. […]

  12. […] H&M Beauty blush Cantaloupe – H&M beauty has some stunning blushes that many more people should know about. So I talk about them as much as I can, because more people should use these. Cantaloupe is a very soft peach shade that looks very natural. This is a great one for a softer, more natural look. It has the teeniest amount of sheen to it, which makes me like this blush even more. I usually don’t like shiny blushes, but this is a welcome exception. […]
