Soap & Glory Archery 2-in-1 Brow

If you have been following me for a while than you’ll know that I love Soap & Glory for brow products. Soap & Glory is a UK drugstore makeup brand and their 2-in-1 brow products have been my favorite for years. The fine pencil with the spoolie on the end are my go to and so when I spotted a different rendition, I thought I’d give it a try. Let’s see how I did with the 2-in-1 Archery brow sculpting crayon & setting gel.

What I love most about these brow products is the affordable price point. Boots often have these on often whenever I am in the UK and for the past decade that has been once a year. So whenever I make a stop across the pond I pick up some of the Soap & Glory products. Last time I was there, I spotted this. It is a bit more expensive than my usual as this retails for £10, but it is often on buy one get on half off sale.

The Packaging

As the name suggests, this is a 2-in-1 product. On the one end you get a brow pencil and on the other side a clear brow gel. This comes in only three shades, but the lightest in Blonde Ambition is a good match for me. It is a nice cool toned color. Because this product has both products in one tube, it is easy to use, the packaging doesn’t feel flimsy and I like how this means you do not have to reach for a separate brow gel.

The Brow Pencil

The brow gel is applied with a standard, run of the mill spoolie. It is a nice one, but that is not what made me want to pick this up. What made me want to try this was the shape of the brow pencil, which is triangular. I think Hourglass first launched a brow product in this shade and I was curious to see whether it would work. And let me tell you: it works. I like how I can hold this products sideways to color in more precise areas and vertically for coloring in larger areas. It makes doing browns very quick and easy.

The Swatch

Ignore the swatch on the left: that was a liquid brow product that wouldn’t budge once I wanted to swatch the clear brow gel (in the middle) and the pencil (on the far right). The brow gel is clear, which I don’t mind. I prefer a colored brow gel though, but for just setting in place this gets the job done just fine. The spoolie is precise enough and graps onto all the hairs.

The pencil is a nice cool toned taupe shade. Often, blonde shades in brow lines are a little bit red, but this is not. It looks a bit warm against the back of my hand, but on my brows it really doesn’t look weird. The pencil is not too soft, nor too hard: it has a good enough color payoff to get enough product into the brow.

The Application

Applied to the brow, I really like the look of this. The pencil works well in my brows, but I can imagine that if your brows need a bit more work, this may not be for you. This pencil does not allow you to pencil in brow hairs so if you are not blessed with brows that just need a bit of filling in, I would not recommend this product.

The gel is a good product too, but it is my least favorite of the two here. While it applies easily and keeps my brows in place, it also makes my brows feel hard and crispy. That is a feeling I don’t like as I find the product hard to remove from my brows at the end of the day. If anything, this brow gel does the job a little too well. As I have been using this product more consistently too, I have found that the gel has become a bit gloopy and is sticking my brow hairs together, which is not something I love.

The Conclusion

Has the Soap & Glory Archery 2-in-1 brow pencil beaten my all time favorite brow pencil? No it has not. While I like the brow pencil on this, I am not the biggest fan of the brow gel. It is a nice product, don’t get me wrong, but I would prefer a regular spoolie on the end, rather than a brow gel. That is the only reason why this has not knocked my all time favorite Soap & Glory brow pencil from its top spot. Still, if you are looking for a product that does it all in one go and you don’t want to bother with two separate products, then this product will be a great one to try.

  1. This was one of the first makeup things I tried from the brand, right after the One Heck of a Blot compact that is a staple in my purse, and I absolutely adore it. I really liked the brow gel but like you I like tinted as well (I have the gel alone in blonde ambition as well) but I can definitely see where you are coming from. Fabulous post, darling!
