Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche lipsticks

One of my favorite lipstick formulas? Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche lipsticks. And because I loved them so much, I decided to expand my collection. I already own four of them and reviewed them two years ago and today I am reviewing the other 6 lipsticks I have acquired since then. Yes, 6 of them, because I just love the formula of these lipsticks so much that I had to make sure I have every shade possible. Here are my 6 new Bite Beauty lipsticks.

Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipsticks | Sake, Pepper, Fig, Verbena, Radish, Cayenne

Bite Beauty are not cheap and only available from Sephora in US and Canada. I managed to snatch these up right before Sephora US discontinued shipping to Europe last year. These lipsticks retail for $26 each, so that is quite pricey, but Bite lipsticks are also made with mostly natural ingredients and edible for the most part. Each lipstick color comes with a certain percentage of how natural the lipstick is and for most it is around the 90-95% mark.

The Packaging

Bite lipsticks come in iconic dark grey, rubberized packaging. On the one hand the lipsticks all look great, but it also makes it hard to tell which color you are grabbing for. Despite that, these bullets are sleek, easy to use and they protect the lipstick very well. And that’s what matters most. I just make sure to store these upside down so I can read the name on the sticker and know exactly which lipstick I am reaching for.

The Lipsticks

My no. 1 reason for loving Bite Beauty lipsticks is because of the formula. These are the creamiest lipsticks on the market. I love wearing them in the winter time as they are very nourishing on the lips, do not accentuate dry patches and for a cream formula this lasts a long time. Because of the cream formula these do slip around a little bit and with the darker and brighter shades that does mean you have to be careful when you eat as these easily transfer all over your face if you’re not careful. Needless to say, the neutral shades are my favorites to wear in this formula, which is why I got 4.

Sake & Pepper

The first two shades I got are perhaps a little too similar in hindsight, but that is what you get if you can only buy something online. Sake, on the left, is a bit more pink toned than Pepper on the right. Pepper has to be my favorite of the two and the one lipstick I wear the most. If I don’t know what lipstick to wear Pepper has become my go to shade. Sake is also very pretty on, but it is a touch lighter and a bit more cool toned and therefore doesn’t automatically go with every look I do.

Fig & Verbena

Of these two shades I have a tendency to wear both of them the least of the selection hear. Both of them are pretty, but both are very particular shades that go with particular looks or times in the year. Fig is a pretty light pink, which when I first saw it I didn’t think would work on me, but it does. Usually light shades like this look horrible on me, but this is quite flattering. Verbena is a really nice neutral with a reddish/ brown undertone. It goes with more looks than Fig, but it is a bit dark to go with more intense looks and it is too neutral to go with neutral looks.

Radish & Cayenne

The last two shades I got are super bright numbers. Radish is a perfect magenta shade and one I love to wear in the winter time. It has a really nice opacity and quite possibly the boldest of the shades once on the lip. Cayenne is a great, bright, punchy red. I love a good orange toned red, and I didn’t have a bright red lipstick in the Bite formula yet. So I decided to pick this as a good standard lip to wear whenever I crave a good, creamy red.

The Swatches

As you can see the opacity of the lipsticks is spot on. Fig seems a bit more sheer, but that is because it is such a light shade. Radish and Cayenne are easily the most pigmented of the selection. The formula is consistent throughout: creamy, rich and longwearing. After a while these lipsticks don’t necessarily stain the lips, but they last a long time even after a meal and a few drinks. They don’t last a full work day but a good 5-6 hours nonetheless. Don’t believe me? Just look at the shades once applied to my lips.

The Application

On my lips, these lipsticks are all applied evenly and intensely. Sake, top left, is a good cool toned lipstick. Pepper, top right, is my favorite and definitely a my lips but better kind of shades. Fig, middle left, is a very light pale pink shade. Not something I wear a lot but I also don’t have too many pink lipsticks that are this light and still flattering. Verbena, middle right, is perfect for when I need a neutral that is a bit darker. Radish and Cayenne are perfect for when I need a bright shade.

The Conclusion

I knew buying these that I would love all of these Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche lipsticks. Pepper is by far my top favorite here as it is my ultimate neutral. Cayenne is my second favorite as I love a good red, followed by Radish. The other three are all stunning too but only work with particular looks and therefore get worn a lot less, but the quality of all these shades is super consistent and lovely. If you have the opportunity to score a Bite Beauty lipstick, I would certainly recommend getting your favorite shade.
