Becca Champagne Splits | Prosecco Pop & Pamplemousse

A product that I have had for a long time, but that I had not yet rewarded with a review is the Becca Champagne Split in Prosecco Pop and Pamplemousse. This was a duo blush and highlight that Becca released in collaboration with Jaclyn Hill some time ago. The individual products are still available, so I think I can still review these products. I mainly bought it at the time as I wanted to try the Becca blush and highlight formula, so it was perfect to try it out.

Becca Champagne Splits | Prosecco Pop & Pamplemousse

At the time, I bought two of these, as there was a whole range of these limited edition duos. The other one I picked up was Champagne Pop & Flowerchild. When I purchased these, I thought that one would be my favorite of the two. But now that I have had these for years, I find I reach more for the one I am reviewing for you today. Why it took me so long to get this review up, who knows, but since I love it, I still wanted to write this up.

Becca is of course quite an expensive brand. The reason why I liked these as a way to try the brand for the first time was because you got two products for the price of one. These retailed for $38 each: I got them from the US Sephora website at the time. A blush and highlight retail for around $38 each, so in a way you get two products for the price of one. Of course you do get less product, but I have honestly never used up a blush or highlight, so I knew I would be okay.

The Packaging

This has to be some of my favorite packaging by Becca. The product is housed in that classic flying saucer style packaging that all Becca powder products comes in. But this is gold and silver, rather than black and silver and that makes this product look and feel a lot more lux. It is quite hefty packaging and I would not recommend traveling with this. Becca products can be quite fragile and especially the Champagne and Prosecco Pop formula is very soft. So this could shatter quite easily. Inside, you get a dual split pan and a full mirror in the lid.

The Blush & Highlight

The difference between Champagne Pop and Prosecco Pop is that Champagne Pop is more of a champagne and has a hint of rose gold to it. Prosecco Pop is more of a true light gold. Not something that I like to wear on the daily, but in the summer time, I love me a golden toned bronzer. This is definitely more intense than The Balm’s Mary Lou Manizer, which is one of my all time favorite gold highlighters. Prosecco Pop is a bit more intense and more yellow toned than that, but currently it works quite well on the skin.

I had not yet tried Becca blush when I got these. Flower Child is a muted soft pink. Pamplemousse is definitely a bit more in your face. It is a reddish/ coral shade. Or as the name suggests: the same color as the inside of a grapefruit. However, as you can see below, you can easily apply this with a light hand and sheer it out to something that is very wearable. It is nice bright pop of color and I think the combination of these two shades is spot on.

The Swatch

As with many blushes, I am looking at you Tarte blushes, Pamplemousse does not swatch well. You can see it has a bit of a sheen, but that sheen does not translate to the skin. The blush is easy to blend, stays well on the skin and you can manage it well.

For the highlighter this is one of the most blinding highlighters I own. It is very similar to other gold highlighters, so I don’t feel it is very unique, but the combination of the blush and highlighter combined is something I really enjoy. What makes this particular highlighter stand out to me though is the formula. This is not only blinding, it also has a super soft, easy to work with formula and a little goes a long way.

The Application

As you can see from these before/ after pictures you can easily blend these products out to make them super wearable. I used to not go in with very dense brushes when I used these products. But as my makeup skills improved and I discovered that other brushes worked better with these products, I feel more confident in using them. I now apply the blush with my Real Techniques blush brush and the highlighter with a Sigma highlighter brush. If you would like to see these products live in action, then watch this video.

The Conclusion

Becca Champagne Splits in Prosecco Pop & Pamplemousse are two very fun products to play around with for the summer time. The formula is stunning, as you can expect from a more expensive brand like Becca. These blend well, stay put and look gorgeous on the cheeks. The only downside: because it is a duo I only tend to use these products in tandem and as a result I don’t reach for this as much as I should. I truly love this, I just kind of forget I have it.
