Kiko Kohl Eyeliner

How often do you buy pencil liners? Myself, well I don’t do it too often. It’s one of those products where it doesn’t make sense to just keep on buying them. I’ve also had some bad experiences with dry, tough liners that didn’t stay put. So, not only is this a product I don’t buy often, it is also one I am critical of. But then one day I spotted the Kiko Intense Colour Long Lasting eyeliners and they were on offer and so I decided to give them a whirl.

I randomly found this at my local Kiko store. I was just browsing the offerings and then spotted these. They felt very creamy and they really reminded me of the Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliners. Plus they were on sale. The regular sale price on these is €5.50 a piece, but I paid no more than €3.25 for each one.

The Packaging

In total there are 16 shade of which I picked up four. These pencil are just that: pencils. No fancy twist up, no automatic sharpening, nothing of the sort. This is a straight up pencil that you need to sharpen yourself. You do get a smudger sponge on the back end of each pencil. You can use this for smudging out the liner, but that is not something I would use.

The Pencils

The four shades I picked up are 04 Pearly Brown, 09 Metallic Malachite, 11 Metallic Blue Teal and 13 Pearly Violet. I bought the brown to potentially replace Catrice Liquid Metal Gel Pencil in Hazel the Hoff. That is my all time favorite eyeliner, but it has been discontinued. I mainly love the shade of that and I have been looking for an alternative since. I felt this came very close. I don’t have that many colorful liners and a good green, teal and purple would nicely round of my collection.

The Swatch

As you can see these pencils are very creamy. These swatches were created with just one swipe. They glide on nicely are not difficult to sharpen and they last a really long time on the eye. I mostly use pencil liners to tightline my upper and lower lashline and these work well for that. Because of the creamy texture these glide on easily and don’t tug or hurt the eye at all. Despite the creaminess, they last all day and do not budge. I have been loving the teal pencil especially as I have been wearing quite some teal and blue eyeshadow looks lately.

The Conclusion

The Kiko Intense Colour Long Lasting Pencil Eyeliners are some of the best ones I have tried. They are comparable to the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On eyeliners, but at just a fraction of the price. I like how this range of pencils comes in many more fun and colorful shades: that turquoise is definitely a contender to be added to my collection in the future. They work really well, last a long time and they are affordable to boot. What else could you want from a pencil liner?

  1. oh wow, not only are they super cheap but wow from the swatch and review they seem really good! I really want to go pick up a few colours now!

  2. Love the colours you picked out, I’ve heard of this brand but i don’t know much about them. It’s great when you find an affordable liner that works well.

  3. I’m from Belgium but it’s a good exercise to write in English 🙂 do you know if they are waterproof or if there is a waterproof version available? Waterproof tends to last longer on me
