Today is part two in my glowy primer series. Say hello to my Glossier Future Dew review! This glowy skincare/ makeup hybrid is a product that intrigued me when I saw it had just launched during my visit to New York. I had only just begun my ‘glowy base’ journey, and the fact that this product promises the best of both the skincare and makeup worlds, meant that I was hoping this would be a great product that could give me that glowy look I love. Does it?
Review: Glossier Future Dew Oil Serum Hybrid
The Future Dew primer is a product that falls into the midrange of the three options I am currently testing out for you. Where the Charlotte Tilbury was the most expensive option I tried, this one is almost half the price at €24. Glossier as a brand is a bit difficult to buy from though depending on where you live. I got these products on a trip to New York City as they are not currently shipping to my country. So depending on where you live will determine how easy it is for you to get your hands onto this product in case you are interested.
What does this product have to offer?
I ended up purchasing this the minute it launched. The main reason? Because this product promises to be a workhorse type of product. It is recommended to use this products as a last step in your skincare routine. However, it is also recommended for use under makeup. This product should give a dewy glow, but without making you look greasy. It instantly makes your skin look perked up and nourished and therefore could be used as is. In short, this product can be very useful if you are like me and love wearing dewy products.
How does this product swatch?
As you can see here, Glossier’s Future Dew has a bit of a tint to it. In fact, when you first pump this out, you can clearly see there are different colors running through the product. It therefore is wise to shake this product well before you use it. It has a bunch of shimmer particles, but as you can see, once blended in, those shimmers disappear and turn into a lovely glow.
How does this product apply?
The brand calls this product a serum oil hybrid and that is most certainly true. The product feels nice, but this does feel quite oily when applying it to the skin. I therefore like to pump this onto the back of my hand, dot it around my face and then rub it in. The final result is a beautiful glow. Despite this product being an oil-based formula, I feel that this works well under makeup. This doesn’t add any oiliness throughout the day and it keeps my makeup looking natural and glowy all day.
My final thoughts
Glossier Future Dew is a product that surprised me a lot. I was afraid this would be too oily, even for my dry skin. No one wants to look like an oily mess just hours into the day. This product not only adds a dewy look to my face, it also makes my makeup look fresh all day. Especially combined with a more medium coverage foundation, I find this adds the layer I need to make the makeup look its best. Unlike the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter, this doesn’t add any coverage and therefore it doesn’t even out my skin tone like that does, but in terms of glowiness and dew, this product most certainly wins.
Would I recommend Glossier Future Dew?
If you can get your hands on it quite easily and you are looking for a product that gives you all the glow: YES! If you are in a country where Glossier doesn’t ship to: then don’t go out of your way to try hunting this down. That said, I know that once travel comes back and I can make my way back to New York, I will most certainly hit up the Glossier store and buy a new one.
