Today’s review is all about brows. I finally managed to use up my Colourpop Precision Brow pencil (which was okay, but which I didn’t love). So it was time to select a new brow product to try. I decided to go for one of Catrice’s newer launches: the Fill & Fix Waxy Brow Pen. This brow pencil is like many brow pencils I have used in the past: it has a triangular shape and does what it needs to do. I am not too picky when it comes to brow pencils, but they are often too stiff or too warm toned for my liking if I don’t like them. So how does this one fare?
Review: Catrice Fill & Fix Waxy Brow Pen 010 Blonde Brown
You just can’t beat Catrice and their affordable prices. This pencil in particular retails for a mere €3.59. That is dirt cheap compared to some other brow products on the market and I love Catrice for it. I have tried many Catrice brow products in the past, often with mixed results. Some items I truly love, while other things I feel quite so so about. So far Catrice has not really come out with a brow product that truly wowed me. Will this be any different?
What does this brow pencil have to offer?

I mean, it’s a brow pencil, so what do you expect. It has a triangular pencil that twists up and down and comes with not too much product. It is available in four different shades: 3 colors and 1 transparent shade. I bought 010 Blonde Brown, because I like my brow products to have a bit of a tint. With more affordable brow products I often find the pencil to either be too stiff or too warm toned, but with this pencil that isn’t the case. I like the shade on me and the texture feels smooth and it applies easily too my brows without any tugging or pulling.
What does this brow pencil swatch like?

As you can see this brown pencil can cover quite a lot of ground in one go. This has to be your cup of tea. This won’t be that brow pencil to make it easy for you to draw individual brow hairs. However, if you already have brows to work with like me and you just want to fill them in quickly, then these kinds of pencils are some of my favorites to use. They may it easy to do your brows and give just the right amount of product for a more defined look.
How does the brow pencil look once applied?

The shade is perhaps a little bit more red toned than absolutely perfect, but once I apply my brow gel you really can’t tell. I like how this makes my brows look as well: they are filled in but not too stark. I find with some brow pencils that it is too easy to create harsh lines, and I prefer a softer brow look. You can clearly see the difference here: in the pictures above I have nothing in my brows. In the picture below you can see the effect of just the pencil without any other products applied.
My final thoughts

Most brow product reviews aren’t earth shattering and this is no different. This is a good brow pencil that gets the job done, but the Catrice Fill & Fix Waxy Brow Pen isn’t revolutionary and a game changer. Brow products for me are merely utilitarian. I don’t get joy out of doing my brows and I kind of do them to complete my look, but no more than that. So for me, a brow product should just get the job done and that’s what this does. I don’t feel very excited about this, nor would I necessarily feel the need to repurchase this when it runs out. Knowing Catrice, come their next collection they’ll have another brow product out anyway.
Would I recommend that Catrice Fill & Fix brow pencil?
This is good enough for what it is. Catrice do some good brow products for people who don’t fuss around too much with their brows but want to use something. These aren’t the kind of brow products everyone raves about because they are that product you use and use up, but don’t necessarily rave about. This is nice and if you are looking for a brow product to try this is really inoffensive and cheap to boot.
