We are continuing my trial of some K-beauty products I bought via Yesstyle. Today we are having a closer look at the Apieu Juicy Pang blush. Now the Juicy Pang range from Apieu comes in an array of formulas and shades. This is the review for their cream to powder blush which is called the Jelly Blusher which comes in a compact. I also own one of the highlighters from this range as well as their liquid blushes, but those reviews are still pending as I need to try them more. And like with the Holika Holika Jelly Dough blush I reviewed last week: I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this product. Let’s get stuck in.
Review: A’Pieu Juicy Pang Jelly Blusher RD01 Apple
Let’s start with the very good news: this is a very affordable blush! This retails for €7.10 which is really not bad. The easiest place to shop this brand and this product from is Yesstyle and I bought this blush with a coupon I was gifted by the brand to feature some products on my blog. So that’s how I came about this one. However, this blush formula had been on my wishlist to try for some time, because I had heard lots of rave reviews on the Juicy Pang line. I just didn’t know it came in so many different renditions, so I was happy to find this cream formula because I am currently really into trying cream blush. So for me, this couldn’t have come at a better time.
What does this blush have to offer?
Since this is a K-beauty products, don’t expect this to perform as you would from Western makeup products. Not only because the Asian makeup aesthetic is a very different one, with a cream blush you also create a very different look compared to a powder blush. So that is something to be aware of. Now, this blush, has a very special formula as it is a cream to powder formula. What does that mean? It means that this blush goes on like a cream but wears like a powder. And that’s exactly what this does! Because with creams it can be tricky to get a full day of wear out of them, but on my dry skin this stays put all day.
What is the color like?
The Apieu Juicy Pang Jelly Blusher is available in six different shades. And with K-beauty products I am always a bit nervous about the shade ranges. They don’t always suit my tastes, but when I spotted this I thought: that’s perfect. The shade is called Apple and that’s exactly what it reminds me of: a juicy red apple. It’s not too vibrant: some red blushes can be very much in your face and vibrant. But this one is more of a muted shade which makes it super wearable for my everyday makeup look.
How does this blush swatch?
And that wearability continues to show up when you swatch the product. Because as intimidating as this might look in the pan, that’s how natural this looks, even in a full on swatch. Here you can see that it isn’t all that red. This blush is more like a neutral blush shade with a hint of red. Very pretty. Formula wise this has a very satin sheen to it that is easy to blend especially if you use fingers to apply it. It has a very pleasant feel when you touch it (not putty like, but a bit more firm with a bit of slip) that makes it super easy to apply the right amount.
How does this blush apply to the cheeks?
So this blush wears well, has a lovely shade and a great texture that is easy to manage. So how does this apply? As far as cream blush goes I prefer to use my fingers to apply the product. I feel it gives me the most amount of control over the product and it makes it easier to blend as the warmth of your finger tips will help blend the product as it melts into your foundation underneath. What I like to do is to take some on one finger, then rub it onto the matching finger on my other hand and then tap it in. The result? A natural, glowy look with a bit of warmth and flush to it.
My final thoughts
Another week, another successful product from Yesstyle! The Apieu Juicy Pang jelly blush in Apple is a stunning blush shade that really has me pleasantly surprised yet again. I just think that I should stick to K-beauty blushes from now on because they have some of the best formulas. I have now tried a few formulas from several brands and across the board they do some lovely products in some interesting yet wearable shades that really suit my makeup aesthetic. I am really loving my K-beauty products and I can’t wait to review more.
Would I recommend the Apieu Juicy Pang Jelly Blush?
Wholeheartedly yes! Yet again, K-beauty takes the cake when it comes to their blushes. This is a stunning formula and if one of the 6 shades this comes in looks like something you might like I can recommend you try this. However, the shades all seem quite light and if you have a deeper skin tone it may be difficult to find a shade that suits you. That may be good to bear in mind.
