Dior Forever Natural Bronze bronzer review

Luxury bronzers. Are they worth it? Let’s try a few and find out shall we? Starting with the Dior Forever Natural Bronze bronzer. This bronzer was released earlier in the year and I was instantly intrigued. I have tried some Dior products over the years and have pretty much liked all of them. So when this launched and I was planning for my full face of Dior video, I knew I would have to include it. Now that I have tried it more, I am ready to give you my full thoughts.

Review: Dior Forever Natural Bronze bronzer 04 Tan Bronze

Dior products do not come cheap. This bronzer retails for a whopping €50 for 9 grams of product. That is only a little bit more than most bronzers which average around 7 grams of product. However, apart from Charlotte Tilbury’s Airbrush Flawless bronzer, this is my most expensive bronzer in my collection. So the question naturally is: is it worth it and if so why? Sadly I have to admit that this is one of the best bronzers I have tried in years and so I hope this blog post can help you to understand my reasoning.

What does this bronzer have to offer?

First of all you should know that hadn’t tried many Dior products for some time. Only recently did I become newly intrigued after the brand released some interesting products, this bronzer being one. One of the reasons this appealed to me? The packaging for sure. The compact is covered in a quilted leather design with the CD logo and this instantly makes the packaging stand out but without it being bulky. But the packaging isn’t the main reason we buy makeup now is it? So let’s see what this bronzer does for the face.

Why is this bronzer great?

Packaging aside, the Dior bronzer has a lot going for it product wise. It comes in 8 shades, which is a lot when it comes to bronzer. If a brand does more than 1 shade, it is often already a feat, but this one comes in 8 from very very light to very very deep. Bear in mind, not all shades may be available to you in store. Over here, we get 5 shades in store and the other shades are only available online. When I looked at these for the first time, I thought I wanted to go for the lightest shade, but when I spotted them in store, I opted for a much deeper shade. Let me tell you why?

What is the shade like?

The shade I got it 04 Tan Bronze and the reason why I bought this shade is because it has a cool undertone! Which is quite unique, because many brands do not realize that also bronzers should come in different undertones. As dark as this looks in the pan, that is how easy this is to blend out and it looks super natural once on. The texture is super smooth yet not creamy but the formula sheers out beautifully and that is why I ended up going for a deeper shade. Knowing that with a lighter hand, or a different brush I can easily customize how intense this looks on the skin.

How does this bronzer swatch?

Even in a finger swatch, this never looks super intense or too much. As you can see this bronzer has a subtle glow once applied and it has a sheer formula. It blends beautifully, never looks muddy and just works wonderfully on my skin. It barely shows up and where with many products that is a bad thing, it is what has elevated this bronzer to one of my top 5 favorites. I love how this just never goes overboard, looks natural and still looks like it warms up my face and adds back the color I need to prevent myself from looking like a ghostly pale sheet.

How does this bronzer apply?

Can you even tell I am wearing anything here? That’s exactly the point of this bronzer. No weird muddy stripes, no grey cast, no orange oompa loompa look. No, this bronzer has natural beauty written all over it. It does just enough to add back color to my face, but it never looks like too much. It never looks weird and it is a great bronzer to create an everyday makeup look. Especially if you prefer a no makeup makeup look, this bronzer might appeal to you.

My final thoughts

I love my makeup to be natural and less noticeable. While I don’t mind it if you can see I am wearing makeup, I do like it if it is still great for everyday, simple and natural looking. This Dior Forever Natural Bronze bronzer does just that and that’s why I love it. It works so well with my undertone and I love how it is sheer, glowy and still long lasting and enough to make a difference and make my makeup look more wearable.

Would I recommend the Dior bronzer in 04 Tan Bronze?

Yes I would, but only if you prefer your makeup to look natural and easy for everyday. If you want your bronzer to be more obvious and really add some more color to your face, this bronzer may be a bit lackluster for you. I however really feel the texture, glow and blendability is unlike anything I have seen many bronzers have.
