One of my favorite drugstore priced brands? Kiko Milano! This Italian makeup brand has quite a few stores across Europe and one of them happens to be in my home town. They also have a website that ships internationally so they are a brand that many people can get a hold of and they do some stunning products as well. Another bonus? Kiko does regular sales, so you often don’t have to pay full price for any of their products. Today we are going to have a closer look at a type of product I feel they do very well: single shadow. Say hellow to the Kiko Glitter Shower eyeshadow in Silver Champagne.

Review: Kiko Milano Glitter Shower eyeshadow single in 01 Silver Champagne

Let’s talk availability and price point first. Kiko Milano is available not from drugstore but from their own brand stores. They are located in many cities in Europe and they are quite an affordable brand. Especially compared to many prices in Europe for makeup, Kiko sort of fits into that mid range where most products are between €10 and €20 euros. That is more expensive than some drugstore brands and certainly different in other places, but as I mentioned they do regular sales so I never pay full price for my Kiko products unless I want to try anything from their limited editions. This eyeshadow retails for €8.99 at full price.

What does this eyeshadow have to offer?

If you want pretty packaging than Kiko can do some really good things, but the products from their regular line are usually quite simple. You want stunning packaging, then you should check out their limited edition collections. This eyeshadow is from the year round collection and comes in very simple black plastic packaging. It is compact and fuss free, but it isn’t very satisfying aesthetically. The compact comes with 2 grams of product which for eyeshadow is quite a generous amount.

How does this eyeshadow perform?

The reason why I wanted to review this product is because it might be a little bit misnamed. When I hear ‘Glitter Shower’ I don’t think this is going to be a foiled metallic shade, but a full on pressed glitter. It isn’t a pressed glitter! It looks very sparkly in the pan, but when you put your finger in you’ll feel that the texture isn’t grainy at all. Not sure how they did that, but it feels smooth to the touch. The effect is a high mirror like shine. The eyeshadow is available in 12 different shades.

What is the shade of this eyeshadow like?

I struggled picking a color when I decided to buy this. Silver Champagne ended up being my favorite as it is a silver but because it has a bit of warmth running through it, it isn’t a flat silver shade. Many silvers can look a bit grey which isn’t pretty as it makes for a very dark base color with a silver shade. This isn’t the base of this is as shiny and foily as the shine and it just makes for a very dimensional shades. There are a few other shades that intrigued me as the line contains some stunning grungy and jewel toned shades, but I already have so many of those that I didn’t feel I needed to own those.

How does this eyeshadow swatch?

Boom! Pigment! That is all I can say. The Kiko Glitter Shower eyeshadow is a high shine, highly pigmented eyeshadow that doesn’t look glittery. As you can see here it looks foiled rather than glittery. It has some stunning shine and you can see here it doesn’t have a weird deep base but just features nothing but shine. This, in the inner corner or all over the lid, is going to look stunning around the holidays or if you just want to amp up your look. It is definitely the type of shadow that should take center stage though.

My final thoughts

As you can see in how this applies to the lid, the Kiko Glitter Shower eyeshadow is a great one for adding that brightness to the lid. Here I am wearing it with a deeper taupy brown shade which adds the definition you need to really set off the high shine of this shade. It goes on easily, blends seamlessly and is easy to work with. On my lids it lasted all day and I didn’t experience any fallout.

Would I recommend the Kiko Glitter Shower eyeshadow?

Kiko simply does some great eyeshadow in their singles range. I am not a huge fan of their palettes, but in their singles they certainly do some more special textures and finishes that you would have to pay a lot of money for from other brands. This high shine number is a great addition to my makeup collection. If you are looking for a great metallic, high shine, foiled eyeshadow definitely check these out.
