Clio Kill Cover concealer review

It’s time for a K-beauty review. In 2022, I decided to try a K-beauty brand I still wanted to try. This brand was Clio. I tried their eyeshadow, but today we are taking a closer look at their Kill Cover concealer.

Clio is a slightly more expensive K-beauty brand and I was curious to see what their quality was like. I had heard great things and when I placed an order on Yesstyle I decided to put some items in my cart.

Review: Clio Kill Cover concealer 2-BP Lingerie

On Yesstyle, this concealer currently retails for €11.75 and it is available in 4 shades. 2 Lingerie is the lightest shade available and it’s a pretty bang on shade for me. It has a matte, medium to full coverage and I was curious to see how this would work for me.

What this concealer has to offer?

So I could have predicted how this would go. The claims on this concealer are high coverage, that feels lightweight and goes on smoothly. It shouldn’t oxidize and be longwearing all day. And this concealer delivers for sure, but for my late 30s skin it’s just a little bit too much.

How does this concealer swatch?

I have had good luck trying K-beauty makeup and for the most part I love how natural it looks. But this concealer is a bit thick and difficult to blend. I love the shade though. It’s a great shade, but the finish is too dry and matte. Apparently this infused with a powder technology to help mattify the skin and for me that just results in difficult blendability. You can see in the bottom picture, even after blending it into my skin, where the edge of the concealer is.

What does this concealer look like on the skin?

The true test is to try this on my undereye. And I think you can see what the problem is: it’s patchy! I get super high coverage in some areas, while some areas are barely covered. No matter the application technique I try, I feel this moves around and stamps onto itself as you try to blend it, while being lifted up in other places. Combined with the matte finish, this just accentuated my fine lines a little too much for my liking.

Should you buy the Clio Kill Cover concealer?

While this may not be my favorite concealer of all time, I can see that this is a concealer that will appeal to many people.

If you love full coverage concealers, if you are much younger than me and if you have an oilier skin type, you will probably love this.

If you love more dewy finishes, are experiencing fine lines or wrinkles and if you have dry skin: skip this one.

So while this may not be perfect for me, I think you may still like this as this is not a bad product at all. It just wasn’t great for me and my complexion, but that doesn’t mean this isn’t any good at all. It means it wasn’t right for me.

You can find the Clio Kill Cover concealer on Yesstyle.
