Essence Skin Clearing serum review

Has Essence done it again? Make a good skincare product that is.

They pretty much went viral after creating a near perfect dupe for the Glow Recipe Watermelon Dew Drops.

And they created a moisturizer and a great serum for sensitive skin in 2022 that I actually quite liked.

So let’s find out how I feel about the new Skin Clearing serum.

All Essence skincare falls into the Hello Good Stuff line. And it can get a little bit confusing which is which.

Just know that this is the serum with kiwi fruit extract and AHA to help give your skin a healthy glow.

Skincare review: Essence Hello Good Stuff Skin Clearing Serum

This being an Essence skincare product we can be certain of one thing: this is affordable.

At €4.95, Essence is quite possibly one of the most affordable brands if you want to try some skincare.

However, I have also found that not all Essence skincare is as effective as I need it to be.

My skin is dry/ dehydrated and tends to be quite sensitive. I am also in my late 30s, so I sometimes just need a little bit more from my skincare.

What does this product have to offer?

The Essence Skin Clearing Serum is a mild exfoliator that consists of 97% all natural ingredients.

Essence is also a fully vegan line. It contains PHA and AHA, kiwi water and pathnenol.

This is the ingredient list:

INGREDIENTS: AQUA (WATER), GLUCONOLACTONE, ACTINIDIA CHINENSIS (KIWI) FRUIT WATER, GLYCERIN, LACTIC ACID, SODIUM HYDROXIDE, PANTHENOL, ALOE BARBADENSIS LEAF JUICE POWDER, TOCOPHEROL, XANTHAN GUM, PENTYLENE GLYCOL, SODIUM LAURYL SULFOACETATE, SODIUM OLEOYL SARCOSINATE, ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN, SODIUM CHLORIDE, SODIUM OLEATE, SODIUM SULFATE, PHENOXYETHANOL, PARFUM (FRAGRANCE), CI 42090 (BLUE 1), CI 47005 (YELLOW 10).

This does contain fragrance, which if you are sensitive to that may not be a good idea.

It also contains lactic acid. As far as exfoliators go, lactic acid has been my favorite as it is also the most gentle.

By now I have nearly used this up. And while this is nice, I again feel this is one from Essence that doesn’t quite deliver.

Should you buy the Essence Skin Clearing serum?

Essence has churned out some real bangers when it comes to skincare. However, not everything works well for me, and this is one of those.

When it comes to the Skin Clearing Serum, I am just not wowed by this. I am not really noticing a difference in my skin’s texture.

It is one of those Essence products that I feel may be great if you are younger and you want to start your skincare journey.

However for my late 30s skin this just feels it doesn’t to anything at all.

What is your favorite Essence skincare product?
