You know how not all makeup you try is right for you? That’s how I feel about the Colourpop Cheek Dew serum blushes. This isn’t my favorite product and this blog post tries to explain to you why.

I tried these blushes as part of the Cherry Crush collection, which is no longer available. So I don’t believe these exact shades are still available, but the product most certainly is.
Review: Colourpop Cheek Dew serum blush Sour Cherry & Cherish You
These blushes retail for €7.55 and it is available in 16 shades. I first tried these in 2021 and didn’t love them. So in a way this is a review to let you know what I didn’t like about these and why I decided to put this on my worst products list of that year.
What does this product have to offer?

So the serum blushes were some of the first liquid blushes I tried and I was hoping them to be great. These promise to be lightweight and easy to blend for a dewy flushed look. Sadly I felt these liquid blushes did exactly the opposite.
How does this blush swatch?

Now truth be told, it probably didn’t help that the two shades I got were quite similar and very vibrant. I have found I love a vibrant and more intense shade with my cream and liquid blushes, but not in this formula.
How do these blend?

My main reason for not loving these is how patchy they were when blended out. Moreover they were quite sticky and never quite settled down. That greatly affected the wear time and when I would wear my hair down, it would get stuck to my cheeks.
What does this look like on the cheeks?

When sheered out these really weren’t that bad, but it took too much work to get them to this level. It was difficult to get the right amount of product to really hit that sweet spot. And both shades are very similar so I really felt I didn’t need both. The result is pretty at first, but it breaks up quickly and it doesn’t stay looking like this throughout the day.
Should you buy the Colourpop Cheek Dew Serum Blush?

The Colourpop Cheek Dew Serum blushes sounded very promising. The shades are pretty and I love the finish this gives on the cheeks. However, the results don’t last long and it is difficult to control the amount you need to get the look you want.
Maybe the formula has changed since I last tried these, but my experience with this product was such that I didn’t want to try any more. A product that needs this much thought to make it work and then to not give me the results I want? There is too much makeup in the world for me to be willing to put in that much effort.
In terms of liquid blush I have by now found others I like much better. The Apieu Juicy Pang come to mind and those are even more affordable! At the end of the day I don’t think you need to try this.
