By now it is no secret that I love me some K-beauty bits. The makeup is quite affordable and usually works well with the makeup aesthetic I love for myself. I am just not a full glam kinda gal. Give me glowy, natural looking makeup and I am a happy bunny and K-beauty offers just that. Recently I started trying The Face Shop Designing brow pencil in Gray Brown and I have been liking it.

Now as with many new brands that you try first, K-beauty can be a bit daunting to navigate. What adds to the level of difficulty is that much of the information is only provided in Korean which I can’t speak, understand nor read. So it can be a challenge finding the things you love. However, after much trial and error I am feeling I am slowly but surely becoming ever better acquainted with what K-beauty brands have to offer.
Review: The Face Shop FMGT Designing Eye Brow pencil Gray Brown
The Face Shop’s Designing Brow Pencil was one that even if it wouldn’t work for me I wouldn’t mind it. This retails for €4.50 which is really affordable. I buy almost all my K-beauty products through Yesstyle. They simply have the biggest offering even though other websites also offer K-beauty products. What I like about Yesstyle is that no shipping and handling fees are added and the wait is usually not too long.
What does this product have to offer?

The Designing Eye Brown Pencil promises to be able to shape and define brows in an effortless manner. It has triangular shaped pencil, which I prefer as it makes it super quick to fill in your brows.
Now if this is anything like the Drawing Brow Pencil by Etude House I tried a few years ago, I am not sure whether this will be my all time favorite. That pencil was so hard that it took ages for me to use it up and I didn’t love the shade in the end. This is very promising. It’s a bit softer and quicker in its use. I seem to be going through it a bit more quickly too. (Not that a long lasting product isn’t great, but I remember being totally done with the pencil long before I had used it up).
What does the pencil swatch like?

The shade Gray Brown is a decent shade. It’s perhaps darker than I would normally use and it’s quite an intense shade. It has a nicely cool undertone though but it can look a bit red in certain lighting. Bonus point: it comes in a bunch of shades. This is one of six shades available.
What does it look like in the brows?

Not sure about you, but I love a triangular shaped pencil. I did a bit of a shoddy job applying it hear (it looks like most of the product isn’t even in my brow, sorry!) but I feel it matches my natural brows quite nicely.
By now I have used the pencil for a few weeks and I have really been enjoying it. I am not someone who really needs a lot brow wise though. I just fill them in and let that be that.
Should you buy The Face Shop Designing Brow Pencil?

As far as brow pencils go: this is a good one. Should you run out to get it? No. That’s because brows are very personal. You may want to do more with your brows than fill them in and be done. My brows aren’t perfect, but I also think they are fine the way they are. I have never tried to reshape my brow to fit a certain trend. They are what they are.
If you are someone who loves to reshape their brows and create different brow look I am not sure you’d love this. I don’t find the tip precise enough to mimic brow hairs after a few uses. The tip can become quite blunt and you’re left with a quick fill in product but not a ‘natural mimicks hair like product’.
That said, I think if you just want an affordable brow pencil that gets the job done, then this one is great. I think if there were more lighter shades it might appeal to even more people, but I am very happy with this purchase.
