Sydney Grace Lip Cream review

Did you know that not all liquid lipsticks are created equal? What I mean by that is that some liquid lipsticks are the nasty-dry-down-make-your-lips-crack classic liquid lip. But there are some, like the Sydney Grace Lip Cream, that stay feeling comfortable and feel like a regular lipstick.

At this point I have forgotten how this product made its way into my makeup collection. I think it was a gift from a friend or a free gift with purchase, because I don’t remember ever buying a Sydney Grace lip product. At least, I have no active memory of it. Let’s get to the review.

Review: Sydney Grace Lip Cream liquid lipstick Gracie

As far as affordable brands go, Sydney Grace is an indie makeup brand that doesn’t break the bank depending on where you live. Sadly, I live in The Netherlands and their shipping goes by weight. That means that the more you buy the more you pay in terms of shipping and their start rate is higher than most places as they don’t have a deal with US Postal Service. So while this is only $10, the shipping and handling fees would make this much more expensive. I would definitely wait for them to do a sale.

What does this have to offer?

If you are looking for quite possibly the creamiest of creamy lipstick formulas than look no further than Sydney Grace lip cream. This product is so rich and creamy that it feels more like a liquid lip balm than a lipstick. However, you still get the pigmentation of a classic lipstick so if you were to ask me I would categorize this as a true liquified lipstick. It feels super comfortable but the downside it isn’t super longwearing.

What does this look like in a swatch?

As you can see, Gracie is a stunning shade, but also the reason why I decided to declutter this. This is a light berry/ mauve shade which I have a million times over in my makeup collection. While pretty the fact that this doesn’t wear for as long as some of my other favorite mauve lipsticks made me decide to cull this. In the end I have more longwearing lipsticks that I find just as comfortable.

Should you buy the Sydney Grace Lip Cream?

I would love to recommend this to everyone but to my shock this shade is no longer on their website. They do very many similar shades though. Another reason why I wouldn’t necessarily recommend your run out and buy this is because as comfortable as this is, you have to use very thin layers as it can feel a bit thick and gloopy.

Combined with the creamy texture, the formula just isn’t the best for longevity. This is quite slippy and I found it slides around as you drink and eat, so I would not recommend wearing this when eating something messy because you will be covered in lipstick as this just isn’t transferproof.

All in all, the Sydney Grace lip cream is one of the comfiest lipsticks on the market, but for me the shade and the wear time made me not want to get any more of these. If I factor in the expensive shipping costs I didn’t find it worth it to get more either.

What do you think of lip creams? Is that a product you wear?
