If there is one affordable drugstore priced brand that is on everybody’s lips at the moment it’s ELF. Which is why in February I decided to a Full Face of ELF and I found that any of the hyped up products were not my favorite. Yet the products that I didn’t hear many people talking about impressed me the most. One such product was the Putty Blush in Tahiti. Let’s give it a full review.

My reason for wanting to try ELF again is because I have come to known the brand as a hit n miss brand. They have become a bit easier to get a hold of though, which is why I figured I should try some more. So I bought as many products as I could and tried them all out. One of the products that really impressed me was the ELF Putty Blush. Here’s why I like it.
Review: ELF Putty cream blush in Tahiti
First of all, the ELF Putty cream blush is an affordable product. At €7 it isn’t as expensive as some of the other products the brand has released. It really seems the brand isn’t only copying more high end products, but their price point has also gone up drastically. Especially the products that create the buzz are all €10 and up. That is a far cry from the €1 and €3 line brand I was first introduced to.
What does this blush have to offer?

The ELF putty blushes come in two formulas. There is the first cream blush and there is a luminous version on the market. There are 7 cream shades and 6 luminous shades. Tahiti is one of the ‘regular’ shades.
This blush is described as a lightweight formula that goes from cream to powder while blending seamlessly with a buildable pigmentation. The product should give a natural glow for a fresh look that is perfect for everyday.
What does this blush look like in a swatch?

In the pan, this product looks a lot more intense then when you apply it. So it is tru that this has a buildable pigmentation. The shade Tahiti therefore is far less intimidating than you might think. It sheers out beautifully but I also feel I need to use quite a bit of product to get this to show up.
What I love about this is how easy it is to apply and the effect it gives. Yes, it is sheer, but that means you never look like a clown. It actually is great if you tap it in with fingers and it lasts well throughout the day on my dry skin.
What does this look like on the face?

Here you can see the before and after of the blush when it is applied. You can see there isn’t that much payoff, but I prefer that with creams. That way I can very easily control how mucy I apply and what the effect is like.
My favorite way to apply a cream blush is using fingers. And I would certainly recommend it with this blush. When you first use it and also after leaving it for a while, a film forms over the top which you need to get through to get to the product so you can apply it. Using the warmth of your fingers is the best way I have found.
Should you buy the ELF Putty Blush in Tahiti?

Where some cream blushes can be super intense and difficult to control, the ELF Putty Blush is one that is very easy. If you are a beginner and/ or if you struggle making your cream blush look natural this is a great blush to try out. It is affordable, there are a bunch of shades and it lasts a long time.
I have heard people not loving this product as it disappears on them, but I personally do not experience any fading with this. This product simply looks stunning, the shade goes with so many makeup looks (making it versatile) and it is one of the most affordable cream blushes I have tried that I actually love.
Do you need to run out to get this? No, but I think that if you are looking for a good blush from the drugstore that ELF has a bunch of good offerings and the Putty Blush is a very solid one.
