When is the last time you tried a product you didn’t get on with because it did too much of a good thing? Well for me it barely happens any more which is why, whenever I do find myself in that situation it can be pretty exciting. And it happend with the Glow Mon Amour highlighter drops.

I bought this a while ago to be able to do a full face of L’Oreal makeup and they didn’t have much in terms of highlighters at the time. By now some new bits have come out, but the new Lumi Glow Motion I cannot buy. So there is no way for me to tell how similar these are.
Review: L’Oreal Glow Mon Amour Highlighter Drops
L’Oreal prices vary vastly depending on where you live. In the US or Germany the brand can be a bit more affordable. But where I live this retails for €16.95, which is steep even at the Dutch drugstore.
What does this product have to offer?

This highlighter had a couple of things going for it. It is a liquid highlighter, which at the time I hadn’t tried that many of. Sadly, I just didn’t care much for the bottle. It comes in a glass bottle with a dropper, but it is very messy. It very reminds me of how I experienced using the L’Oreal True Match Serum foundation.
How does this highlighter swatch?

But that isn’t the worst of it! The actual product is beautiful but it has more cons than pros. These the main negatives:
- Messy packaging
- Oil-based formula that can break up makeup underneath
- Too intense
- Too much product
- Only one shade available
So yes, the messy packaging isn’t the only problem. This has a very strange formula that started to turn and separate very quickly. It just didn’t seem like a very stable product.
What does this look like on the face?

But the main reason why I didn’t love this was how intense it was. Just the tiniest drop of this already gives you enough to make you give you a glow that can be seen from space. And I bought this right when I felt like these super intense highlighters just weren’t for me. It’s just a bit too much and obvious, even though it blends in nicely.
Should you buy the L’Oreal Glow Mon Amour highlighter drops?

I am not sure what to say about this other than: buy at your own risk. I really didn’t enjoy this, but if you enjoy a very intense highlighter than this may be right up your alley. But there were so many other points I didn’t love.
From the way this sat on the skin, the way it wore throughout the day and the fact there is just one shade: this product just isn’t quite right for me. So no, I would not recommend you buy this.
