Cream shadow has been some of my favorite products for the summer time. They are quick and easy to use and they are great for travel. They don’t take up much space in your makeup bag and can be quite versatile. I tried the Eyes to Mesmerize cream eyesahdow by Charlotte Tilbury in Pillow Talk and here’s how it went.
I need to preface this review by indicating that Charlotte Tilbury eyeshadow has not been my favorite. The quads are alright but for the price point they are expensive for what you get. So I was curious to see how I would feel about a different eye product.
Review: Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerize cream eyeshadow Pillow Talk
At €32 this is definitely not cheap. I mean I love my Colourpop Supershocks and those are all under €10. When it comes to cream shadow I have found that you don’t need to spend much in order to get a good product. But we all know Charlotte Tilbury is a luxury brand so we are spending a bit more.
What does this product have to offer?
Pillow Talk is a warm rose gold pink with some peach/ gold sparkle running through it. In the pot it looks satin rather than a full on a metallic and I prefer a cream shadow with a bit more shine.
That said, this is very pretty. It is easy to blend, goes on smoothly and when you use some brushes to blend it out, it is a great one and done shadow that transforms whereever you put it on the eyes. Wear time is excellent too.
My main issue with this product was the shade range. This was the only shade in the entire range that stood out to me. I swatched all of them in store and all the shades are warm toned. That is a thing with Charlotte Tilbury but I wish she would do a taupe. That would really sway me.
What does this eyeshadow look like on the eyes?
However in terms of formula this is an outstanding product. It is smooth, easy to use and a little goes a long way. For this eye look I only used this one product and it looks like I used at least three different shades. Different brushes and placement will alter the way this looks. (and yes we get an added brush hair in the look, whoopsie).
It looks almost brown in my crease and on my lower lash line. In the inner corner it is more of a copper and on the lids it looks like peach toned rose gold. Stunning? Sure. Something I wear a lot? No. The only way I can get aways with this is because I have brown eyes but paired with my fair skin this can actually make my eyes look tired.
Should you buy the Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerise cream eyeshadow?
If you like a splurge and you can find a shade that is right for you: do it. This is a beautiful product that I just wish came in more than 10 shades of rose gold. There is a lighter shade but that is still quite warm toned (Oyster Pearl), but if she ever comes out with a taupe I know I will be snatching it up.
In short, this is a good product that is great for people with warm undertones and especially on medium and olive skin tones. If you are fair and cool toned like me, the line won’t have a shade that will work great for you.
