The most hyped up setting spray of 2022? The Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray. And I placed an order for Black Friday and decided to try it, because I essentially got it as a freebee in the sales. Let’s see how this fares on my sensitive skin.
Charlotte Tilbury is a brand that is incredibly hyped up. I have tried stuff by the brand that I have loved, but also plenty of things that I haven’t liked. Their strongest line of products in my opinion are their complexion products: foundation, concealer, powder. Those have all been wonderful and I was hoping this setting spray could enter that list of favorites. Sadly for me, it didn’t.

Let’s just kick things off straight away with the reason why I would NEVER repurchase this, even if I liked it more than I do. A 100 ml bottle like this one here retails for a whopping €49. That is nearly 5x as much as my favorite Colourpop Pretty Fresh setting spray.
What does this setting spray have to offer?
When it comes to what this setting spray has to offer, it does have a lot going for it. It is supposed to be lightweight, hydrating and can be used to either primer or set makeup and should really make it last for hours on end. And it does. I have no complaints about any of these claims as they all hold true: this is one of the finest mists I have ever come across and it truly makes my makeup last without drying out my skin. So why don’t I love this as much as everybody else?
What does this swatch like?
If you can barely see it on the back of my hand: that’s a good thing. The drops of this mist are so fine they are barely detectable once you spritz this on. I do have to use a good few layers of this to get an even coating as the mist disperses quickly so you have to use it quite close by and it takes a lot of product.
What I dislike most however is the scent. This has a rose scent and the first few times I used this, this made my skin itchy and tight feeling as it dried down. Luckily after being diligent I was able to desensitive my skin to this product but if you are sensitive to scents I would very very much advise you to stay away from this.
Should you purchase the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray?
I have no issues with the way this product performs overall. Does it do what it promises to do? Yes! Does this set my makeup and make it last all day? Also yes! Does it have the luxurious experience we all know and love about Charlotte Tilbury? Yes!
However, I want my makeup products to not potentially cause flare ups in my skin and this one definitely did. There is something in this formula my skin just doesn’t like. So no matter how well this works, at this price point I know I can find something better.
