I am currently in my skin tint era and so I decided to try some more. But a tinted SPF? That was new to me as well. So when Tower 28 released this skin tint/ tinted sunscreen hybrid I just had to try it.

Tinted moisturizer, skin tint, tinted sunscreen: what’s in a name? But I feel it all roughly boils down to the same thing: a dewy lightweight base product that does a bit more than just give you coverage. Let’s see if I am right about that.
Review: Tower 28 SunnyDays Tinted SPF 5 Fairfax
At €36 this is not a cheap product. It is also a bit difficult to find if you are in the EU. They are stocked on Cult Beauty but a lot of it is out of stock all the time and the newest releases aren’t on there that quickly. So I prefer to buy my Tower 28 products through Revolve. They have many clean beauty brands and Tower 28 is one of them.
What does this product have to offer?

Tower 28 Sunnydays is a sunscreen foundation with an SPF of 30 that should even out your skin tone but also protect against the sun. I would still use an actual SPF underneath as you will never use enough of this product to really get the full SPF level that is promised on the skin.
This should have some skin care properties and protect the skin. It is also fragrance-free, alcohol-free, non-greasy, non white-cast, and non-oxidizing. A lot of promises and claims in a lightweight formula that is dewy and blends in easily. The formula is a bit on the watery side but I love the squeezy tube and its design as it means you will never use too much. A little goes a long way with this and even on warm, humid days this stays put on my dry skin.
What is the coverage like?

While this is a lightweight formula I would say this is a light to medium coverage. You can definitely wear it more sheer if you use less product and that’s what I have been doing since taking these pictures. I bought shade 5 Fairfax which is the lightest shade and while being a touch too yellow I really like the shade match overall as I need something a bit darker to give most coverage to my redness and this does just that.
What is the shade match like?

While this is the lightest shade I would like this product to come in more undertones. It is a bit too yellow for me so the shade match isn’t 100%. Can I get away with this? For sure, but I did find the description of this a bit misleading. According to the brand this shade (5 Fairfax) is fair with pink undertones, but it’s just not pink enough to be a true 100% match. The sheer formula certainly helps though and in a full face makeup look you can barely tell this is a hair off.
Should you buy the Tower 28 Sunnydays skin tint?

I definitely like this one, but is it truly a skin tint? I’d say it’s more of a lightweight foundation as it has a bit more coverage than I would typically like. The formula is very nice though. I really love how this blends and sits on the skin. And even in hot, humid Indian summer weather this didn’t budge and it looked beautiful on my skin.
This is definitely a solid pick but I feel it is a bit expensive for what it is. You will never get the SPF 30 this boasts as you need three fingers of product to get the SPF boasted on the bottle of any sunscreen and if you were to use that I don’t think this product would still look nice. Wear sunscreen people but make it a skincare product that you apply before you wear makeup.
