Do you have dry skin? Are you in the UK? Then it may be worth checking out E45 if you haven’t yet. I bought this face moisturizer on one of my trips and it’s been one that works very well for me.
In case this is your first time here: I have dry/ dehydrated skin that can be quite sensitive. While I love trying skincare, trying skincare in itself can be difficult for me and I can only tell whether something works for me if I use up the whole product or use it for a longer period of time. Now that this is in my use up bin, let’s chat to see how I feel.
Skincare review: E45 Face Moisturizer
Let’s discuss the price point first. This is a £9.99 moisturizer that is available in many places in the UK. You can find it through most drugstores and some supermarkets. In short, it is widely available and it seems to be stocked on Amazon as well.
What does this moisturizer have to offer?
What I love in my skincare is no frills, effective skincare that doesn’t aggravate my skin. And this brand is all about it. This product is supposed to help with rebuilding your skin barrier. It is great for dry and sensitive skin, even if you have skin issues.
These are the ingredients:
Aqua, Caprylic/capric Triglyceride, Cetearyl Alcohol, Polyglyceryl-3 Rice Branate, Propanediol, Coco-caprylate/caprate, Butyrospermum Parkii Butter, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil, Benzyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Glucoside, Polyglyceryl-10 Eicosanedioate/tetradecanedioate, Betaine, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/vp Copolymer, Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil, Glycerin, Decyl Glucoside, Tocopheryl Acetate, Dehydroacetic Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, Polyglutamic Acid, 1,2-hexanediol, Caprylyl Glycol
For a more affordable skincare product I think there are similarly priced items on the market with a slightly better ingredient list. It’s mainly boasting shea butter and almond oil at the top of the list that are really going to do something and that is the bare bareminimum I feel. So yes, this basic, but that’s why it works.
What was my experience using this?
Personally I was unfamiliar with E45 as a brand. I am glad I got to try one of their products and I liked this, but not enough to dub it a favorite. This is not one I was going to pick up again when I was in the UK. This product has a lightweight, creamy texture and it was a good enough moisturizer to get the job done. But it also didn’t do anything too special.
Should you purchare the E45 Face Moisturizer?
While this is a good product, certainly at this price point, I feel that a Embryolisse (which also comes in an unscented version) or some moisturizers by La Roche Posay are only a little more expensive than this and are more effective for me. Additionally this runs out super quickly. I was able to use it for just 4 – 5 weeks before it ran out and I like my moisturizers to last just a little bit longer.
