My trial of Kruidvat products continues with the Stay With Me concealer. I already reviewed the matching foundation to this product, which wasn’t my favorite. The concealer works better for me but it also isn’t going to join my list of holy grains. Here’s why.
As far this goes, this is just as affordable as the foundation is. It comes in 11 shades of which 012C Fair Blush is one of the lighter ones but not the lightest. There aren’t many deep shade for this though. It kind of stops at toffee shades which is a shame because many people could be deeper than this.
Review: Kruidvat Stay With Me concealer 012C Fair Blush
This concealer retails for €3.49 which makes this one of the most affordable concealers I have tried in a long time. It definitely sits on the cheaper end of makeup even with all the prices that have gone up over time. So yes, if you want cheap makeup and you’re in The Netherlands, you do well to check out the brand.
What does this concealer have to offer?
This is meant to be a lightweight concealer that is longlasting. It has an SPF of 20 and can be built up to a full coverage. It has some nourishing ingredients that should ensure it lasts long without looking cakey. Besides camouflaging dark circles and discoloration it should also brighten any area where you apply it. It has a matte texture that is easy to blend and still looks natural.
What does this concealer swatch like?
My main reason for liking this concealer better than the foundation is the shade. This is far more pink toned than the foundation. It has a bit of glow, decent coverage and it blends easy. It does last long, but its matte texture means this doesn’t look great on my dry skin. It starts off looking beautiful but as it wears throughout the day it can accentuate any dry patches. Yes it’s easy to blend and looks natural on, but I also want my concealer to last all day without looking cakey and on my skin type it sadly doesn’t look the best.
What does this concealer look like on the skin?
My main reason for using a concealer is to cover up my dark circles and here you can see a little bit of what I mean. I tend to use a finger to blend it out a bit better and I feel the warmth and oil of my fingers helps this concealer to look a less dry. But you can see here that it accentuates some dryness and could pull into fine lines. It looks better on other areas of the face, but it mostly disappoints on the under eye area where I need it the most.
Should you buy the Kruidvat Stay With Me concealer?
Kruidvat has some pretty and pretty affordable makeup at that. Provided you don’t have dry skin and have a light skin tone they can give you some nice options that definitely won’t break the bank. Of course you’d also need access to makeup in The Netherlands as I don’t think the website ships internationally.
So yes, while this is a nice product, I can tell this isn’t for me. For dry skin this is just too matte. It does look nice at first and the shade is spot on for me. But after a few hours this just doesn’t look great. For me, it wasn’t quite it but I can see people with an oilier skin type loving this.
