When I first tried the Kruidvat products there was one product in particular that truly impressed me: the Lighten Up Diamond Glow highlighter. This is my review for the lightest shade: Champagne Pelican.
This comes in a total of three shades, is super affordable and it is a stunner of a product. I thought I had given up on white gold highlighters but this one surely rekinkled my love.

First things first: this thing is cheap. It’s just €3.99 which is super affordable. This looks very unassuming in the pan, but it is when it is applied that it truly shines. For an affordable highlighter this is not one that feels cheap once applied to the face.
What does this highlighter have to offer?
So this highlighter has a lot going for it, especially for the price point. It is a buildable, soft focus highlighter. This can be applied subtlely or you can applied it intensely. It is enriched with an oil to help moisturize your skin as well but this is a powder, so I doubt this added benefit will do much.
What does this look like in a swatch?
In a swatch you can see a little bit of how stunning this highlighter is. Essentially it is a white gold, but it has a transparent base and just a lot of shine. It has a subtle gold flash that can be intensified whichever way you like.
This is easy to apply and feels quite rich when you touch it. That must be the oils this boasts about in the description. It lasts well on my dry skin and it blends seamlessly into my fair skin tone.
What does it look like on the face?
Sadly, highlighter is difficult to capture in a picture, which is why I have linked my video above. This just shows up better when you move your face and you can see it catch the light at all different angles.
On the skin it works beautifully. It has a soft base to it, which a golden flash that looks very natural once applied. It blends in beautifully with other cheek products and it lasts a long time as well.
Should you buy the Kruidvat Lighten Up highlighter?
As much as I like hyping up the products that I love, I know this is impossible to buy if you are not in The Netherlands. So this one is for all my Dutchies: if you get just one product from the Kruidvat drugstore line it is this one. If you are due a visit, I would highly recommend you check this out too.
