I used up my Glossier Futuredew and to keep the glowy primer train rolling I decided to move on to my Kosas Glow IV. This is VERY glowy and not for the faint of heart. If you don’t like your skin looking wet or like you have turned into a human discoball: stay away. However, if you love products that fuse skincare benefits with makeup than this may be up your street if you love that very glowy look. Let’s give it a review.
Kosas has a lot going for them. They fall into the ‘clean’ beauty realm and while I don’t necessarily think clean beauty has any added benefits compared to other brands, I do like their overall aesthetic. The Glow IV is a glowy skin enhancer that comes in 10 shades and today I am showing you Revive which is described as a very light silver champagne.

So I may be a little bit late to the party with this one as this seems to be discontinued. I can no longer find it on many websites that stock the brand and many shades are now sold out. Originally this retailed for €33 but it is now available for 50% off on the official Kosas website. That is also the only place I can really find it.
What does this product have to offer?
The Kosas Glow I.V. fuses skincare with makeup. It is a glowy product that can look a little too glowy for some, but it depends on how you use it. It can be used under makeup, as a highlighter or as a mixin with foundation or skincare. It is recommended for sensitive skin and contains 91% natural ingredients. I prefer to use it as a base product under makeup. It is very beautiful with a light base over it. By itself it is too glowy and the texture is very thick for a mix-in shade.
What does this look like in a swatch?
This is one of those: a little goes a long way type of products. You only need a little bit (one pump is more than enough) to cover your entire face. It is quite a thick formula so spreading it out can be a bit tough at first, but it smoothes out easily and the result is this: a very glowy yet even base. It has a bit of coverage as you can see below. Because of the thick texture and very glowy finish I use it with a tinted moisturizer on top. I am afraid that this isn’t the best under actual foundation as it will be too heavy.
What does it look like on the face?
On the face you can see that shade Revive goes with my complextion but it is actually a little bit too dark and yellow for me. A more pink toned undertone would have been better. The glow is real. That combined with a tinted moisturizer makes this look like you have been airbrushed. The intense shine blurs any pores visually. The bit of coverage this has means you can go in with a super light base. So just a concealer even works with this. But as you can tell, you have to like a lot of glow to enjoy this. (and I do).
Should you buy the Kosas Glow I.V.?
If this is being discontinued, then of course I do not recommend you going out of your way to still get your hands on it. However, if you can buy it and you want an easy to use base product that is great for summer and goes well with a lightweight base. I probably won’t love this in winter as my skin is too dry then and the thick formula will emphasize any texture I may have. But overall this is pretty if you like super glowy skin and it works well under makeup. Not a must have, but a beautiful product nonetheless.
