Water for Elephants

Water for Elephants

There is one movie coming out in 2011 that I’m already excited for. Which movie is that? Water for Elephants.

Based on the novel by Sarah Gruen, this movie tells the story of Jacob Jankowski, who leaves vetinary school to join a circus. He then falls in love with the wife of the man who runs the place and only something terrible could happen of course.

This is all I knew about this story and let me tell you it didn’t grab me at all. First of all, I hate the cirucs and animals are so not my thing. The story and the short descriptions I’d read online didn’t make me want to run to the book store to read the book or camp out to see this movie. I really didn’t know what people were so blatantly raving about, let alone understand why people were so excited about this movie. Yes, it may star Robert Pattinson, my not so secret celeb crush,  but even THAT couldn’t get me excited.

Last week, however, the trailer was released and OMG I’m loving it already! The elephant is too cute and I loved the colors/ lighting. If that is the same in the movie it’s going to be a good one. Some critic compared the story to Titanic with the young guy stealing away the lover of the older guy and narrated by an older person, which from what I can tell from the trailer, seems quite accurate. Titanic is not my fave movie of all time, cuz I’ve actually never seen the ending of that movie due to me bawling my eyes out every single time ‘Jack’ sinks to the bottom of the ocean, but if this movie is only half as moving as Titantic I wanna go see it! Watch the trailer below and see for yourself:

The movie stars Oscar winners Reese Witherspoon (Legally Blonde) and Christopher Waltz (Inglorious Bastards) and Robert Pattinson (Twilight). It is directed by Francis Lawrence. And yes that is the guy who did I Am Legend (worst movie ever!) but also directed the music videos for Cirus and Toxic by Britney Spears.
