When temperatures start to rise, I never feel like doing a complete 15 – 20 minute make up routine. I forgo the smokey eyes and ditch the foundation. What I want is a make up look that is quick and easy to create but that stays on all day despite the sweaty weather. However, this simple make up look should include all the essentials for a full blown summer make up look: glowy skin, a bright pop of color and and a soft, neutral eye. I hope you enjoy this quick & easy summer make up look and enjoy your Saturday!
First up, I should apologize for my streaky hair. I was trying out a new hair oil and used a bit too much of it making my hair look very greasy and yucky. And this make up look isn’t just called quick and easy because it really really is. I used my fingers, a pencil or something straight from a tube to apply almost everything on my face. There was hardly any use for brushes, apart from face powder, bronzer and brows. Come summer time, I simply love to use my hands a bit more. I don’t have a very specific reason why, but I just do.
I kept the face very neutral, but I did do things slightly different from my usual routine. I added bronzer and a liquid highlight to add some sunkissed color and a bit of glow to my face. I gently applied some creme blush and a creme shadow for a bit of color on my eyes and my cheeks. Since I knew I was going for a bright, bold lips, I didn’t want either the cheeks or the eyes to be overpowering in the overall look.
Especially eye make up, smudges easily on me in the summer and so I simply skipped eyeshadows completely apart from a bit of a subtle peachy shimmer all over the lid. For some subtle definition of the eye, I went with a brown eyeliner pencil. I only applied mascara to my top lashes as anything on my lower lash simply won’t stay put. Instead of foundation, I went with a BB cream and just a touch of concealer to make sure I started with an even base.
