Last day of the month and… NO monthly favorites. Because this time I just didn’t have enough new favorites to rave to you about. So I decided to save it up and team up the months of August and September in a favorites’ post. Instead, I am bringing you a post I haven’t done before: an empty products blog. I’ve been wanting to do one for a while, but I always forgot to keep the packaging. This time I didn’t!
These are all the products I used up in the past 2 months or so. It’s mostly body products and things like deodorant and toothpaste. I go through those the quickest and I have this thing where I use up a bottle before I pick up a new one. Same goes for skincare and many other things you see here. Some of these products I wrote separate blog posts on. I will link those where available.
1.) Face products
- HEMA Eye make up remover pads
- Origins Ginzin energy-boosting moisturizer (mentioned here)
- Lush Angels on Bare Skin
And immediately we hit the jackpot. These are three of my favorite products. Lush Angels on Bare Skin has been a favorite for years that I keep repurchasing. The review you find under the link above is from 2011! One of my finds last year was the Origins moisturizer: not too wet, easily absorbed and works wonder under a day cream and make up. The make up remover pads I only use to remove swatches, so I’m not too picky with them. These come in a pack of 100 and they cost less than 2 euros.
2.) Body products
- Sabon Butter Cream in Lavender Apple
- Lush Flying Fox shower gel
- The Body Shop Vineyard Peach Shower Gel
I finished two shower gels and one body butter. I tend to use two different shower gels at a given time. One for morning showers and one for evening showers. The Flying Fox is for evenings, the peach one for mornings. I loved both. The butter cream I used mainly as a hand and foot cream as that’s where my body parts need the most added moisture. Before bed I whack on a layer and I’m all set. I have a stock of body butters to go through, if not, I’d repurchase this one in a heartbeat.
3.) Hair care products
- SYOSS Restore Deep Repair Shampoo and Conditioner
- L’Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil for colored hair
I used up a shampoo and conditioner as well as a leave in treatment. It took me quite some time to finish up the L’Oreal hair oil and it is something I would definitely repurchase. I liked this better than a hair oil I used in between from my hairdresser. I’m not too fussy with shampoo and conditioner and have already switched to a different brand.
4.) Deodorant
- Nivea Stress Protect roll-on deodorant
- Dove Sensitive deodorant spray
On to the very common every day things. I used up two different deodorants. The roller I use first thing in the morning, whereas I use a spray to freshen up during the day. I keep a mini spray bottle in my bag and then there’s two fullsized ones in my gym bag and my office drawer. I like the nivea roller, but I have decided to try one of their stick formulas now and so far I’m liking that. Dove is my favorite deodorant spray brand. They are gentle and not too heavily scented.
5.) Toothpaste & shaver
- Sensodyne Repair & Protect toothpaste
- Wilkinson Intuition Senstive Care razor
On to the very boring stuff: toothpaste, how exciting. I’ve been using the same toothpaste for years. I switched to this one after my dentist recommended it. I have sensitive teeth and when I switched out my toothpaste on vacation, I had to go out and buy this again (from an Italian pharmacist) because I was awarded with a toothache halfway through. The razor is something I swear by too. It’s so easy to use, you don’t need any shaving cream and I get these for cheap on sale or from the discount drugstore in town.
6.) Sunscreen and cuticle oil
- No-AD 50+ sun protection
- Soap & Co cuticle oil
Let’s end the post with two miscellaneous items. I didn’t use up the sunscreen, but it had to go because it is last year’s bottle and thus the UV protection is no longer functioning as well. The No-Ad sunscreens are great though. A bit thick and difficult to spread out but you get quite a bit of product so it is a good product to have on hand when you are on holiday at a sunny destination. The cuticle oil was nice, but nothing too special. I am now using bog standard Nivea cream and that works better than this oil.
What have you used up recently?
