NOTD: Blue confetti

The past few days we saw some pretty nice spring weather over here and so it urged me to post some fun spring nail polish look. Remember my love for baby blue nail polish? Well that is still going strong and so I paired a fun baby blue polish with an even more fun top coat.

I have no clue where my sudden love for all things baby blue comes from. And it’s really a nail polish thing too. I have not been craving buying anything else that is baby blue in color such as clothes or other make up items. But when it comes to nail polish, baby blue is my obsession for spring this year.

When I painted my nails I was under the impression that the top coat I’m wearing here was blue and green, not blue and yellow. But I still liked the effect enough to take some pictures for a blog post. I like how the blue of the top coat is a tad darker than the blue of the polish I’m wearing here. And the best part: both of them are budget proof drugstore brands.

Products used:

  • Trind Nail Restorer
  • Trind Nail Repair
  • Orly Polish Bond base coat
  • NYC In A New York Minute Quick Dry nail polish in 325 Raindrop
  • L’Oreal Color Riche top coat in 928 Oulalablue
  • Sally Hansen Insta-Dri fast drying top coat

The good thing about his manicure is that it lasted at least 5 days before I had to take it off. On my nails that is some good staying power as my nails are quite weak and bendy. For a drugstore nail polish, such as NYC that is a good result. NYC doesn’t exactly break the bank and I think I paid no more than 3 euros for this pretty blue shade. The L’Oreal polish are a bit more expensive at 5.99 a pop, but they are on offer quite often. I am not sure whether this particular top coat is still available because I believe it was part of last year’s spring or summer collection.

I think this combo is such a fun nail look for spring. The baby blue compared with the matte flecks makes for an easy to wear and fun spring manicure that not only adds a pop of color to anything you wear, but also has some good lasting power. At the same time it doesn’t cost too much. What is not to like?

What is your ideal spring nail polish shade?
