Lately, I have found myself venturing towards Rimmel’s 60 Seconds Super Shine nail polishes. I don’t know why, because before I never even bat an eyelid at them. I thought the colors were uninspiring, the formula of the ones I had tried only so-so and it just never caught my attention. But these past months Rimmel has renewed the line and with the help of Rita Ora came up with new names and new colors. The formula has been improved and there is a spring/ summer line that I simply adore too. I thought I’d show you my two most recent Rimmel 60 seconds purchases.
I picked up these two pretty pastel shades as they are not only super spring appropriate, but the colors really appealed to me. The first is a pale baby pink with a hint of shimmer. The second is a blue toned lavender shade that is just absolutely gorgeous. There is another blue in the Rita Ora collection that I have been eyeing up, but after my obsession with all things blue nail polish I have decided to put a stop to that.

I absolutely adore this milky pink nail polish. The hint of shimmer is what makes this polish. It is not too noticeable, but it keeps the nail polish from looking ‘dead’. I am hoping this will be one of those polishes that will nicely complement my hands, and hopefully make them look a little more tanned. The name is also aptly chosen as it seems to be a perfect nude nail polish.

The lavender shade is another type of color that I love wearing during spring/ summer. It’s got the perfect amount of brightness to it, but still it is a muted tone. This will look great on toe and finger nails alike. I also found a fun dot top coat from a different brand that I think may look nice over this. So I think I may be trying that out soon.
On the swatches the colors go on opaque and not streaky. Even that light pink shade looks like it has just the right amount of pigment to cover up your natural nail. That’s one reason why I always swatch on a clear nail wheel. Firstly I have a swatch at the ready for when I am trying to pick out a color to wear. And secondly, I can test how opaque the shades are. If it shines through on this, chances are that it will also do so on your nails.
Yep, I am very satisfied with my new obsession for Rimmel nail polish. I now have a grey, a light blue and these two. I believe I also have a scented berry shade from a few years ago, which I am now dying to whip out again. Too bad it is the type of color that is more appropriate for fall than for spring. Oh and I spotted a gorgeous blackened red in the Super Shine line too and the Rita Ora collection comes with a seemingly stunning pale yellow shade too. Gah, I think a trip to the drugstore is needed sooner rather than later.
