Welcome to autumn! And what better way to start off this new season than to talk about a product I hardly use during summer (due to bees, allergies, etc.), but that I bring out full force come fall? Perfume is one of those things I seem to love most in fall/ winter and over the years I have gathered a few favorites. I haven’t talked about fragrances on here for a while and thus i figured it was high time again.
There are a few perfumes that I love that aren’t part of this post. The original Chloé fragrance and Dolce & Gabbana Dolce are also favorites, but since I really have to be in a certain mood in order to wear those, I decided to leave them out. Dolce is one of my go to fragrances for spring and I save the Chloé perfume for special occasions. The six perfumes in this blog post are the ones I feel I can wear whenever, wherever.
Balenciaga Florabotanica
We’re starting off this post with my top 1 favorite perfume, my signature scent, my ultimate favorite. Balenciaga’s Florabotanica has a perfect mix of mint and herbal notes and as it develops it turns slightly warmer with floral notes of rose and then settles for amber and vetiver. The two base notes are some of my favorites and the moment I smelled this I knew it was a hit. As I wore it more often I found that this fragrance isn’t just right up my alley but also works best with my own scent. It’s a match made in heaven.
Diesel Fuel for Life
An oldie but a goodie. This is one of my ‘I just chuck this one, if I don’t know what to wear’ perfumes. It starts slightly fruity, but then settles for jasmine which is again one of my favorite scents in a perfume. It is an easy to wear perfume and a great start if you’re looking to buy your first perfume. This also doesn’t break the bank from what I remember. A 30 ml bottle retails for roughly 30 euros I believe.
DKNY Pure
For days on which I require a fresh scent I opt for DKNY Pure. Another floral scent but because of the freesia a lot fresher than its predecessors. It again features jasmine, amber and rose, but this fragrance isn’t overly floral. It is lightweight and nothing too strong. I feel it is a perfume that needs a little sprucing up during the day. Nothing like the other fragrances here which pretty much last all day. I also use an extra spritz with this as it isn’t a very overwhelming smell.
Chloé Love Chloé
How different that is for this perfume. Love, Chloé is a perfume that only needs a couple of sprays to last all day. In fact, if I’m not careful and spray too much of this, it gives me headaches and can make me feel nauseous. 2 – 3 targeted sprays is more than enough for me. Unfortunately this fragrance is a little bit hard to get hold of nowadays, but you can still order it online. This is still floral like the others, but a lot more powdery. I love how girly this smells and thus I usually wear this when I wear super feminine outfits. Plus it is one of my go to fragrances for fall.
Dior J’adore
I had almost forgotten how much I loved this perfume. J’Adore was my first high end perfume I ever purchased and so it still holds a special place in my heart. I wore it again the other day and was reminded of how much I love it. This is another lightweight fragrance that really goes with anything. It has a fruity smell to it but there is again that floral note in the middle followed by a warmer, woodsy undertone once it settles. This used to be my every day fragrance for a long time, and I guess it will be again now that I have found out again how easy this is to wear.
Chanel Coco Mademoiselle
One of my latest perfume related purchases was Coco Mademoiselle. Fun story: one day I wore this to work and my colleague sniffed the air saying someone smelled good. After smelling everyone to see who it was, he turned to me and told me to wear it more often. It starts a tad fruity, but this has patchouli in its base making it a much heavier perfume. A lot of Chanel fragrances seem to have that note in its makeup, but so far Coco Mademoiselle is the only Chanel perfume I have smelled that appealed to me. Most of them are too heavy or too wispy for my tastes.

[…] The perfume I only wear during spring time would have to be Marc Jacobs Daisy. But I also love wearing my all time favorite, signature scent (which I wear year round, but like especially during spring time): Balenciaga Florabotanica. […]
