Things I Love #7

I thought it was time to share some favorites again. Sometimes I feel I don’t do these often enough. Usually by the time I have gathered enough favorite things, I have already moved on from them. So I should either do this more often, or I should be willing to include fewer items. I just feel I haven’t found the perfect format for this type of post yet. So please leave a comment below if you have any ideas for how I can make this a more productive type of blog post. For now, I will leave you this Sunday with 10 of my things.

Things I love favorites

Just a few of my favorite things…

I like keeping this blog posts fairly random: there is a TV show I watched and loved, my current favorite pair of shoes and some make up items I have been loving. In short, there is plenty to get through. So let’s get to it.

Peaky Blinders

I’ve been watching quite a few shows on Netflix lately and one of the shows I was most interested in watching was Peaky Blinders. So far only the first season of this BBC period drama is up, but boy was it good. It tells the story of how the Shelby brothers build their criminal empire in early 20th century Birmingham. It is based on a real gang from the Victorian period who dominated the streets of the local slums. So it is not 100% time period accurate as such, but if you’re looking for a fast paced drama with great acting I highly suggest you watch this.

NARS Sex Appeal blush

Everyone knows NARS Orgasm as it is a cult favorite. But a blush that I love using during winter time is Sex Appeal. This blush has a super light pink color which works wonders on my pale skin. It’s pretty much all I am wearing lately when it comes to blush.

Samsung music app

Never mind the fact that this shows I’ve been listening to Christmas music, but I have found the Samsung music app to be better than the Winamp app since I switched from and SII to an S5. It does everything I need it to do: from playing playlists to better audio quality and a user friendly interface, I’ve been really like this app.

Faux shearling coat

The other day I went shopping with my mom and found some great items in the tail end of the sales. One of those items was this lammy coat. It’s super warm as the fluffy lining is all over this jacket. It has a double closure and a soft hood that makes this a great new winter coat that I got for 75% off its original price.

MAC Syrup lipstick

Lustre lipsticks aren’t necessarily my favorite MAC lipstick finish, but when I decided to buy some new MAC lipsticks Syrup was high on my to try list. It was between this and Patisserie. I thought Syrup would be much more flattering on and like the NARS blush I have been wearing it non-stop.

Leather Cambridge satchel

Ever since the start of this school year I have been lugging about my old school bag as my day bag. It is a leather satchel, much like this one, only smaller. This one was gathering dust in a corner as it was broken.  But I got it fixed and now I have a bigger day bag for when I need to bring my laptop or if I want to bring a pair of heels to work.

Urban Decay 24/7 Concealer pencil in DEA

Another make up favorite is this Urban Decay concealer. Again, a product that I have been using every day since I bought it. It has the perfect color and coverage and blends like a dream. The only faff is the packaging as this isn’t a twist up pencil and the pencil is held in a metallic case. So today I have to melt this down in my microwave to try and get it out so I can use it up.

Asos leather Chelsea boots

I bought these boots last fall and I have been wearing them so much lately. The leather is soft and smooth and this is simply one of the comfiest pairs of shoes I own. I love wearing them with denim jeans, but I have also worn them with skirt and dresses and I find these very versatile.

W7 Hollywood Bronze & Glow

And then especially the bronze part of this palette. I felt my Hourglass Ambient Lighting powder in Radiant light became too dark for me and so I switched things up and start using the bronzer in this palette instead. I find that, with a light hand, this product works well for me to bronze up the face and add a tad more color.

Finally, there is one very random food item on this list. I didn’t like avocado at all. Until recently. When I mashed some up, spread it onto crisp bread and sprinkled some salt and pepper on top. Best lunch ever!
