I don’t know about you, but now that spring has hit up once again, I’m craving a color palette that fits the brighter weather that is to come. One element you can easily change up is your nail look. I don’t know what it is about spring, but every time spring comes around, I want to paint my nails a pale blue color. From pastel to bright sky blue: where I shun bright blue eye shadow, I am all about those nail polish shades. These are my favorites.
L’Oreal Color Rich Ocean Porcelaine
Barry M Speedy Quick Dry Nail Paint Eat my Dust
Rimmel 60 seconds 853 Pillow Talk
NYC In a New York Minute Quick Dry nail polish 325 Raindrop
Essie Coat Azure
I am not sure why I love pale blue polish so much. All I know is that there are a few nail polish shades that stand out to me. Pale blue is one of them. It is bright, it is fun, it is a tad neutral, so not too much in your face and you are definitely adding a little bit more interest to your nails than wearing a nude or nothing at all. To me, pale blue nail polish keeps the middle ground between cute, bright and wearable.
L’Oreal Color Rich Ocean Porcelaine
My first favorite blue polish is the lightest blue shade I own. Ocean Porcelaine is part of the almost white nail polish range that L’Oreal started doing 2 springs ago. This was a complete one off: I haven’t seen it in stores since, but I have seen the other shades around. I just think this may be a tad more difficult to get your hands on. It is a tad sheer because it is so light, but since the polish has quite a thick texture, it doesn’t show up on the nail.
Barry M Speedy Quick Dry Nail Paint Eat my Dust
One of my most worn nail polishes last year would have to be Eat My Dust by Barry M. The entire Speedy Quick Dry line has some great light shades of nail polish. This blue is a tad brighter and deeper than Ocean Porcelaine, but it goes on far more opaque. It also has a really good lasting power, which is one of the reasons why I love Barry M polishes.
Rimmel 60 seconds 853 Pillow Talk
Pillow Talk is what set off this nail polish post. When I bought this, I realized how much I veer towards pale blue nail polish shades. Again this is another tad deeper and closing in on more of a sky blue. Where my other two favorites I’ve shown you so far were complete creams, this has a hint of a sheen to it. I am usually not a fan of sheen or shimmers in my polishes, unless it is not too noticeable on the nail. And that is exactly what this is.
NYC In a New York Minute Quick Dry nail polish 325 Raindrop
For a true sky blue, I have a great budget option for you. NYC’s Raindrop costs but a few euros and is a full on creamy sky blue polish. It makes a great base for nail art if you’re into that. My favorite way to wear this is by itself, or with a fun top coat to play up those spring vibes.
Essie Coat Azure
My final pick would be this deeper shade that is more of an ocean blue. If you’ve ever seen the Mediterranean Sea I am sure you know what I am talking about. Essie also played up the name after the area in France where many people vacation. This polish isn’t for everyone as it has a very visible silver sheen running through the polish. It looks stunning on the nails though and that is what matters most.
There you have it: a neat little line up of 5 blue polishes that I love. From the palest pastel blue to a deeper sea blue: there should be a little bit of something for everyone here.
