5 favorite skirts

Skirts are a good basic to own and I have many lengths and styles to vary up my look. But lately I’ve been noticing that I reach for a few skirts that I love to wear the most. These 5 favorite skirts all have a few things in common: they all have a knee to mini length and most have an a-line fit. Go figure!

I guess I just like this style and length the most. I love skirts as they are a quick and easy way to play around with textures, colors and print in a look. All you need to coordinate is a good basic top and you have an outfit. Now, I prefer skirts in the spring, summer and fall time as that is the time of year to show a bit of leg. In the winter, skirts can be a bit cold, but with a good pair of tights and perhaps a longer length, it could still work. I wore this skirts in plenty of different lookbooks and outfit posts. So if you have a browse around, you should be able to find what these look like on.

H&M Striped skirt

Let’s start with the odd one out, shall we? This striped skirt is such a great basic. The print may seem daunting, but I love pairing this with a plain black sweater and some cool black biker boots and tights for a casual and effortless look. This skirt is completely stretchy and I’m surprised at how well it has maintained its shape over the years. When you wear this, it looks like a regular pencil skirt, but it is 10x more comfortable.

Forever 21 Faux Leather A-Line skirt

This was such a lucky strike. I spotted this at Forever 21 tucked away in a corner. The only one of its kind left, I knew I had to grab it. I love how simple this is. It therefore goes with anything. My favorite way to wear this is with a blouse tucked into the front and a pair of heels. It is a bit more dressed up and you could very easily dress this down. Just add a fun printed t-shirt and converse sneakers!

H&M Faux suede button through skirt

Remember these skirts? I think they were all the rage one or two seasons ago, but I still love them. I own several styles, including a denim version, but this faux button through skirt is still my favorite. I love the texture this has and it therefore is appropriate for many different seasons. Despite the light brown/ tan shade, this is surprisingly easy to combine. I love this paired with whites, khaki, blacks and navy.

Topshop Burgundy corduroy skirt

This skirt is perfect because it combines so many things I love into one. First of all it is insanely comfortable. Second, it has pockets. Third, it is burgundy and lastly it is made of this ribbed fabric. This works especially well with a printed top or a thin sweater. Paired with boots and a leopard print sweater this works well in a rocker chic look.

ZARA Checkered skirt

The first a-line skirt I ever owned is still a great one. The checkered print goes well with bold colors. Think primary reds, blues and yellows. Yes yellow. You might look a bit like an NYC Yellow Cab, but I like the combo of the two. Green is another color that works well and of course you can also opt for more neutral shades and pair this skirt with pinks, blacks, greys and navy blue.

  1. I bet you can guess what I would consider my favorite skirt; that orange red pencil you get all heart eyes over 😉
Love the burgundy cord number. Also that checkered with a kelly green, yes please!

  2. I like that checkered one! I have a similar one but it’s from a Target collab. My favourite skirt is a black A-line one that is so comfy to wear and goes with anything.
