Dove grey. There is something about that color that attracts me. I’ve been eyeing up two different shades by Essie, but a) they are too similar and b) I already own this one. This polish was part of a recent limited edition collection by Catrice and I fell in love instantly. This is Catrice Pulse of Purism nail polish in the shade Pure Blues.
Catrice Pulse of Purism Pure Blues
I’m not sure why I am so obsessed with this color. Call it dove grey, duck egg blue: but these grey toned blues are what really captures my attention. Catrice nail polish is very afforable, this cost around the €2.99 mark. It is limited edition, but in their new Icon Nails line they do a fairly similar shade, but you can also find it from other brands as well.
The Packaging
The bottle looks quite sophisticated and chic: one reason I love Catrice products! They always look aesthetically pleasing, even though the products are very affordable. This bottle is almost square and the lid is white with a gold metallic pattern. The only downside is that the cap is rectangular and not an overlay where you then find the real cap underneath as with the Icon Nails range. These lids can be difficult to screw back on just right and aren’t the easiest to hold.
The Polish
The polish has a nice consistency. I generally like Catrice nail polish: the texture is nice, it makes for some good, even coats and the lasting power is generally good. The brush has a flat cut and it isn’t too wide. I like my brushes to be quite slim as my nail beds aren’t the biggest. If the brush is too big, I simply end up making a mess. This brush is nice an precise.
The Swatch
The color is spot on and goes on opaque with two thin coats. It applies even and is easy to apply. I didn’t make and outright mess with this and it stayed on well: I got at least 4 – 5 days of wear without chipping, just some tip wear. On my nails: that is a great feat.
On The Nail
Here I am wearing this color on my nails. My pointer and pinky are just this shade. The middle and ring finger have an extra coat of an Essence nail effect powder on top.
The Conclusion
This is a great polish by Catrice. It may no longer be available, but I find the texture and consistency very much up to par to their new Icon Nails line. It even has a similar shade, plus you might still be able to find it in a sale bin as that’s where most limited edition Catrice and Essence products seem to end up as well. Catrice did it again with this Pulse of Purism nail polish.

[…] Catrice Pulse of Purism Pure Blues – If Udon Know Me is too bright for you, then a duck egg blue such as this limited edition color by Catrice is a good option. One of my favorite shades for the spring time is a duck egg blue as it is a great way to insert some color in a look. Besides that it has a nice muted shade so it is never too much. […]
