I managed to snap some shots again before heading out the door for work. I like doing these kinds of posts to give you an impression of what I have been wearing. Up to now, our spring has been quite chilly and more like fall. Hopefully this weekend will see some higher temperatures and sunny days. So these outfits may not *look* very springlike to some people, yet I’d rather stay warm and cozy rather than freezing my bum off. These are some of the outfits I wore in the past few weeks.
Random Outfit #10
In my mind I had been wearing more color, but that could very well have been the effect of outfits that I wore, but didn’t manage to snap a picture off. Oh well, life of a blogger I suppose. That said, I did manage to sneak in a bit of color in every single outfit. Sometimes it is a bit more obvious than others, but not a single outfit is merely monochrome. Hooray!
The wiggle dress
Dress | Asos
Shoes | Clarks
Outfit no. 1 is super simple. I’ve been meaning to make a wiggle dress lookbook for ages and so I pulled this out to try it on again to remind myself why I love this style of dress so much. I hope to be able to film my lookbook soon so I can have up in the next few weeks. This dress has a pretty, khaki green shade with white, black, purple and blue accents. It is a very bold item, but some reason it just works really well if the rest of the outfit is very plain.
Shirt | Weekday
Cardigan | H&M
Skirt | Costes
Shoes | Asos
Don’t be fooled by this seemingly monochrome look. While the top half might look plain, the bottom half is where the party is at with a crushed velvet blue boot. It’s difficult to see in the picture perhaps, but yes, those shoes are blue. This is my favorite way of styling them actually. Since the shoes are such a statement piece, I like keeping the top part of the outfit quite simple. So I went all black and white, with a touch of houndstooth pattern in the skirt.
Red in your face
Blouse | Vintage
Jeans | Urban Outfitters BDG Axl
Shirt | H&M
Shoes | Converse
Spring is my favorite time in the year for wearing blouses. Whether they are short sleeved, or long sleeved, blouses are my jam in the transitional seasons. To amp up my color game, I decided to wear this bright red blouse that is one of my favorite vintage finds. The color is so rich and I like the fit of this. I paired it with grey (I love pairing red & grey for some reason), a pair of stone wash straight leg denim and my trusty red converse to compliment the red on the top.
A bit of mustard on the side
Cardigan | Urban Outfitters
Top | H&M
Skirt | H&M
Shoes | Asos
One of my favorite colors to wear right now is mustard yellow. For some reason it is quite flattering on, especially paired with darker colors. I have had this H&M crop top for a while, but I had yet to wear it out. So I decided to throw on a highwaisted a-line skirt. The skirt has a contrast stitch that is very close in color to the mustard so they go together quite well. I threw on the cardigan to stay warm and since it is one of my favorites I get a lot of wear out of this. I went with a cool boot, with a western style buckle effect: a great way to toughen up a look.
Sweater | H&M
Trousers | ZARA
Shoes | H&M
Last week I wrote a blog post about how I would like to style these gingham ruffle trousers I got from ZARA last year. This outfit featured in there and I figured I would just go out and wear it. I got loads of compliments on this. The ruffle detail really adds something to the pants and I love the black & white contrasting with the soft lavender shade. And since lavender is all the rage for the spring/ summer 2018 fashion season, this outfit is not only comfy, but also right on trend.
Cardigan | Only
Shirt | Forever 21
Jeans | Topshop
Shoes | Asos
If you ever wondered whether I actually apply some of the tips I share on here than this outfit should proof that to you. I have mentioned before in some of my other styling blog posts how I like to clash prints from time to time. And this outfit does just that. The cardigan has a navy and white stripe. The shoes have leopard print. The outfit works because the prints aren’t too close together and because the top half is quite neutral in its color palette. The yellow of the leopard print clashes nicely again the navy too and that really brings the outfit together.
What have you been wearing lately?

[…] When I was looking through old blog posts to see whether I could find any pictures of these cardigans in some of my outfit posts, I saw this particular cardigan popping up in quite a few blog posts. It is by Urban Outfitters and I love how this drapes quite loosely over the body. Since it is grey, I feel it goes with EVERYTHING, which is probably why I have used it so much in my different outfits over the years. You can see it here. […]
