What I Wore #1

I’ve decided to rename my Random Outfits to What I Wore. Don’t know why I didn’t think of it before, but these blog posts are more of an overview of a few outfits that I managed to capture throughout a few weeks or so. We’ve been having quite the Indian summer here and so I have been wearing some hot weather outfits that I wouldn’t usually wear in September. Here’s what I wore recently.

What I wore | Recent transitional outfits

Because the weather has been quite nice so far (the day this post goes live is supposed to be the day we have a great fall day with wind, rain etc.), we’ve been having quite a few warm days. That means I wore lots of dresses, wore blazers as outerwear and thus I have been wearing some great transitional outfits.

One of my favorite way to transition into the fall is to wear a fun summer dress, but throw a thin cardigan on top. Add on a pair of neutral booties and you are good to go. This dress is one of my favorites. I bust it out every year as it is so much fun to wear. I love a good tropical print and this dress was a great find. I love wearing it with a cream cardigan, but in the summer I love pairing this dress with yellow as you could see here on my Instagram.

Jumpsuit | Monki
Shoes | Reebok

Two items I showed you in my last haul video, I found go really well together. I wasn’t sure what shoe to wear with this jumpsuit, but I tried the white Reebok Club 85 C sneakers with it and loved it. It makes for a great casual outfit and I still think this jumpsuit is incredibly flattering on. And it makes a nice change from my usual dress. As with all jumpsuits: yes, it was incredibly hard to go to the bathroom in this.

I don’t think I ever wore a full Asos outfit yet. But if there are two things I like to shop for on Asos it’s dresses and shoes, so this outfit sums up my love for Asos quite nicely. I like how the black & white shoes pair so nicely with this super bright dress. The dress is a bit much: between the coral, green leaf print and toucans, I knew I had to try and ground this somehow. I bought these brogues (yes, they are brogues, not sneakers) to wear on nicer days and with dresses and I found that this made a great combo.

Shirt | Mango
Jeans | Topshop
Blazer | Vintage
Shoes | Adidas

On one of the cooler days we have been having, I decided to wear this. The jeans are a super comfortable pair by Topshop. I believe these are the Binx and they only did these for one season. They are super stiff denim and only get more comfortable the more you wear them. I lamented the day I had to put them in the wash. The blazer is one of the most unique pieces in my wardrobe: it is a red, wool & cashmere blend blazer that I found for 10 pounds in a vintage store in London. I have had it for years and still love it to bit. And I loved the color combo I came up with here: pink & red!

This dress was a very late summer purchase last year, so I hadn’t worn it much yet. We didn’t have the same type of Indian summer last year, so I definitely wanted to bust it out now. I love the color of this. And again, this dress has a tropical print. Only now that I am putting this blog post together am I noticing that I wore three dresses and all three have a tropical print with a different base color. What can I say? I love tropical print.

Shirt | Mink Pink
Jeans | Topshop
Shoes | Dr. Marten’s

The final outfit I want to share with you is a super casual look. I realized that I hadn’t worn my spring/ summer Dr. Marten’s all that much this season, so I decided to throw in these Charlottes at the tail end of the season. I love these shoes, but they do rub my feet after a full day. The jeans are my trusty stonewash Jamie jeans. These may have to be retired soon as this is one of the first pairs of Topshop jeans I ever bought and they are starting to come apart in some not so flattering places. The blouse is an oldie but a goodie and I love the busy daisy print.

What have you been wearing lately?
