Red is my favorite color and there is no part of my wardrobe that reflects that love better than my dress selection. I have plenty of red items in my wardrobe, but nothing beats a red dress in my book. I have casual dresses, party dresses and even some dresses that I would wear to special occasions. And what’s more: I often have a red lipstick to match. Here is how I would style my red dresses.

How I wear red dresses
This first outfit features a lovely H&M dress that I bought years ago. It is a red dress that I don’t wear often as I love wearing it mostly around the holidays. If I don’t know what to wear to Christmas parties, then this is my standard pick. It is a gorgeous lace dress with a full circle skirt and long sleeves. It is really flattering on and paired with a good heeled bootie, this is a great party look.

Dress no. 2 is a very summery look. This wrap dress from Forever 21 is a kimono style dress that is a touch short but is great in warmer weather. I like how the print clashes against the red: the white and green of the palm leaves really amp up the look. I like pairing this dress with mostly neutral items and I definitely always layer a cami underneath to prevent from flashing all my bits at everyone. What’s more this dress is nice and breezy so perfect for the summer time.

For a more formal look, I like wearing this fit and flare dress from H&M. It is sleeveless which makes it very versatile. With a jacket it looks a bit more dressed up, but because it is such a bright color it is also great to throw on with sneakers for a more casual outfit. The top of the dress is very fitted with some seams that run along the dress. The seams then give way to the skirt, wear it flares out around the hips. All it needs is a pair of heels to finish off this occasion wear look.

I know what you’re thinking: is it a dress, or is it a picknick blanket? This most definitely is a dress. I bought this in the ZARA summer sale last year and didn’t get a lot of wear out of it then, but this year we had a heatwave and this dress was a lifesaver. A bit difficult to imagine as temperatures are dropping ever lower over here, but this dress is perfect for super hot weather. It is big and airy and really gives your body room to breath. Not the most flattering item in my wardrobe, but very practical.

The final dress is my favorite red dress. I remember hunting this down at H&M years ago. It was one I couldn’t find anywhere until I went to The Hague where they still had tons left. I go back to this dress when I don’t know what to wear and it works in every single season. I can wear it as is in the winter time, or layered with a cardigan or jacket in the winter. It is super versatile as it is very simple and the cut of this is very flattering. It is just a go to basic in my wardrobe.
