First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Lip Therapy

First Aid Beauty is a brand I didn’t have much luck with. I tried a few of their products a few years ago and one by one I started trying them. The Ultra Repair Cream, which is a cult favorite, didn’t exactly get a glowing review from me. Will the Lip Therapy lip balm perform better?

In terms of lip balm, this is priced reasonably well. It is about as expensive as one of my other winter lip balm favorites: Nuxe Reve de Miel. As that favorite, the FAB lip balm retails somewhere around the €10 mark. This lip balm promises to be heavy duty, giving great moisture and hydration to the lips. Additionally, it should be able to heal parched, dry lips.

The Packaging

I prefer this style of packaging for lip balm. My favorite is a stick, but for a creamy formula I prefer it if my lip balm comes in a tube. This way the product stays clean and hygienic as you don’t have to dip your fingers into a jar as with the Nuxe lip balm. You can easily squeeze a bit of the product out and use the slanted edge to quickly apply this to the lips.

The Product

First Aid Beauty’s Lip Therapy is a very thick, nourishing lip balm. This is the type of lip balm I love to use before going to bed. Mostly in the winter time, my lips get a bit dry and chapped, no matter what I use. Now that I am using this, I feel my lips stay nourished and I have not yet had any dry, flaky lips this winter. That is why I featured this lip balm in my Winter Skincare Routine video, which was posted yesterday.

The Swatch

In this picture you can see that this is quite a thick product. That means that a little goes a long way with this: you only need this much to keep you lips moisturized all night long. Once applied, this lip balm isn’t too shiny either. I don’t like that super glossy look, so this also looks good on its own on the lips. It has a semi-matte finish and it is clear, which means it can be good for that minimal no makeup makeup look.

Because you only need such little product, this lip balm also lasts a good while. I started using this lip balm over the summer and by now it is getting to that point of nearly being used up. I wanted to wait with reviewing this lip balm until the winter to really test it out and so far so good. As mentioned above, I have had no issues with dry, chapped lips at all this year and I love how this smells on the lips. Each morning I now wake up with super soft, nicely plumped, smooth lips.

The Conclusion

First Aid Beauty’s Ultra Repair Lip Therapy lip balm is one of my new favorite lip balms. It is a great one if you need a heavy duty lip balm that prevents you lips from getting dry and chipped. Before I always had to pull in lip scrubs in the winter time, but so far I haven’t had to reach for any of my scrubs just yet. That, to me, shows that this is a winning product.

What lip balm is your favorite for the winter time?
