What I Wore #6 | Spring 2019 Fashion Outfits

I feel I only just showed you some outfits, but already I have put together enough share worthy outfits to be able to do another What I Wore blog post. In these blog posts, I share at least 6, sometimes more, outfits that I wore in recent weeks. Today, I have 6 new outfits for you. I have been really digging skirts, color (as usual) and prints. Here are 6 outfits I wore in spring 2019.

Sweater | Daisy Street
Skirt | Topshop
Shoes | Asos
Tights | Primark

This outfit is the first one I wanted to share with you. This is such a basic outfit when it comes to the items. It’s a sweater with a skirt, but it is the pattern, color and textures that make this outfit work. I have owned this sweater for close to two years and I hadn’t worn it yet. I just didn’t really know how to style it. And then it clicked: black raw hem denim skirt, sheerish black tights and a pointed toe Chelsea boot. That was all it took to throw together this fun, rainbow outfit.

Cardigan | HEMA
Shirt | Bershka
Skirt | Topshop
Shoes | Asos
Tights | Primark

Another outfit I wore that features a skirt is one that I wore last fall, but that I don’t think I had shared with you yet. That is why I knew I had to take a pic this time. I love how the print of the shirt and the texture of the skirt go together. This skirt is one of my favorites to begin with: it is a burgundy corduroy skirt that just works so well. The leopard print blouse is one that pairs with this so well! I wore a similar look in the fall, but then I wore it with nude tights and brogues. I feel this works much better with the black tights and black shoes: it makes my legs look so much longer!

Cardigan | Vintage
T-shirt | H&M
Kilt | Scotland
Shoes | ASOS
Tights | Primark

This next outfit needs a bit of an explanation. I wore this to a friend’s birthday and that bottom is not just a skirt: that is an actual Scottish kilt. Yes, women wear kilts too. I bought this YEARS ago on a study trip to Edinburgh back when I was still a student. And me and my friends decided to go to this mutual friend’s birthday wearing a kilt. One of them even played the bag pipes. It was epic and hilarious! I decided to pair my navy & purple kilt with a navy vintage cardigan, a basic white tee and black shoes. I didn’t want to draw attention away from that fun item that I should definitely wear more often.

Sweater | Monki
Culottes | H&M
Shoes | Asos

A super basic outfit, but one that I think looks really good on me is this outfit that I created with mostly all new items in my wardrobe. I bought the pistachio sweater last winter: it has a high neck, a baggy, oversized feel and I love how this drapes when it is tucked into a pair of trousers. The culottes were a great find. They are by H&M Petite. Yes, H&M now do a petite line and these fit so nicely on me. They are comfy too as they have an elasticated waistband. I wore them with a pair of leather sock style boots. I love how structured this outfit looks.

Blazer | H&M
Top | H&M
Trousers | H&M
Shoes | ASOS

Time for a nearly all H&M outfit! This is one that I wear often, in different rendition. I have two pairs of nearly identical floral pants. This is more reds and pinks and I love pairing this with a bit of pink for a lighter look. The blazer is a recent find as well. I got this last fall as I was still looking for a boyfriend fit, easy to wear black blazer. I struggle so badly with blazers, but I have been wearing this one loads as it is super easy to wear and a great layering piece. I kept everything else quite basic as the trousers are loud enough to be the center piece of the outfit.

Sweater | Pull & Bear
Trousers | ZARA
Shoes | ASOS

The last outfit is very unMaaike: it is monochromatic Black & White. Not something I wear often. I usually wear a pop of color with all my outfits. And I did pair these trousers with a purple cable knit sweater the day before I took this picture. But I forgot to take a picture. Since I like to wear my bottoms multiple days, I wanted to find another way to pair these ruffle gingham print trousers. I love them, but they are quite out there because of that ruffle, so they don’t go with everything. I figured that if you don’t know what to do, you can always just wear it with something black and I really like that look. It truly makes the trousers pop and that is what matters.

What outfits have you been wearing?
