The lipgloss that got my love for all things lipgloss started? The Colourpop Lux Gloss in Figgy Wit It. I loved it so much that I wanted to try some more shades. So I got some more and quickly found that with this formula, not all glosses are created equal. Within the line the quality varied greatly: some were sticky and yucky feeling on the lips. Others were great like Figgy Wit It. Today I am reviewing another one of my favorites for you: Panache. Sadly discontinued, but Colourpop is still releasing glosses in this line and therefore you may want to know how they perform.
Review: Colourpop Lux Gloss Panache
It had been some time since I had a look at the Colourpop website and to my surprise they now list their prices in euros! One of these glosses retails for €7.90. Not super expensive but also not super cheap either. I love the Catrice Better thank Fake Lips glosses by now as well though and those are half the price. So are these worth it still? I think so, but I would wait for a sale. Especially if you live in Europe, Colourpop can get expensive if you have to pay for shipping and customs. So I always recommend waiting around for a 25 – 30% off sale.

What does this lipgloss have to offer?
I really like the lux glosses because of how comfortable these are. This formula showed me that a lipgloss doesn’t have to be a sticky yucky mess that moves around and gloops up in the corners of your mouth. Yup, my experiences with early 2000s lipglosses didn’t exactly help with my lipgloss affection at an earlier stage. With Colourpop products though it can be difficult to tell what quality you’ll get. Their quality is very inconsistent. Not only within a line of lipglosses, but even between batches of the same shade in a give line. So that is something to bare in mind before you shop with them.
What is the color like?

After trying and loving Figgy Wit It, I went looking for other shades I would love. I ended up picking Panache as a shade I wanted to keep as it is very pretty light pink shade with lots of lovely sparkles in it. On the lips it just makes them look more hydrated and glossy. It is not too thick and non-sticky and I love how this makes my lips feel. Like you are wearing a balm and a gloss in one. So this shade is very nude, which is my preference. I don’t love my glosses to be too bright or intense.
What does this shade swatch like?

I mean how can you say no to this pretty shade? They don’t currenly do this, but there are still a bunch of these on the website and therefore I am sure you can find something similarly. The shade Come Thru seems to have a deeper base but also has the lovely sparkle and shine. Figgy Wit It was a cream shade, which I prefer in a gloss, but this just adds that extra oomph and can therefore be worn in more ways as this can easily be used as a topper over other lipstick for some added plumpess.
How does this look when applied to the lips?

I have naturally quite pigmented lips, which is why not all the Colourpop Lux Glosses I tried ended up making it into my actual collection. This one plays well with the natural color of my lips I find. It accentuates it, makes my lips look more alive and just feels comfortable overall. Where some sparkly glosses have such heavy particles that you can feel it on your lips, I feel that this one isn’t noticeable at all.
My final thoughts
The Colourpop Lux Gloss in Panache is a pretty everyday lipgloss that can just work with some many different looks. I love how this looks on and how comfortable it is on the lips. It’s a gloss though so you will have to reapply it a few times throughout the day as this will easily wear down after a snack or a drink. That said, a shade like this is easily reapplied and really doesn’t take much effort. So I don’t mind that.
Would I recommend the Colourpop Lux Gloss in Panache?
No I would not, but that’s mainly because you can no longer buy this shade. If you were looking for a good gloss than this may be one you want to skip anyway. With the inconsistent formula, the unpredictability of the quality control on the products and the fact that they release new products all the time and barely restock old ones, I have personally fallen a bit out of love with Colourpop as a brand. There are more affordable products on the market that are far better in my opinion and if you are in Europe: easier to get.
