One of my more recent discoveries in terms of makeup? K-beauty brands. I first tried K-beauty in 2020 and I fell in love hard. The overall aesthetic which is more glowy and natural suits my makeup needs so much better than the full glam beat which we have gotten used to in Western makeup trends. So in recent years I have been trying more and more products and I was especially curious after some lipsticks. Peripera is a brand I have tried other products from and those were successful so when I spotted their Ink Velvet liquid lipsticks, I decided to give them a try.
Review: Peripera Ink Velvet 16 Heart Fuchsia Pink & 07 Girlish Red
With K-beauty brands you’ll find that figuring out availability and price point can be difficult. The reason? It greatly depends where you buy your products from. I mainly buy my products from Yesstyle, but recently I discovered Stylevana. Both webshops ship internationally and they do regular sales and have lots of discount codes. This product currently retails for €6.29 from Stylevana. Depending on where you are located, I would suggest you look into which retailer is best for you.
What do these lipsticks have to offer?

I mean can we take a moment to take in this packaging? Some K-beauty products come in very basic packaging, but some brands do put in a bit more effort and usually the products go into ‘cute’ direction. But these Peripera Ink Velvets are a mix of both simple, practical and cute. It looks like a little bottle of paint, which is essentially what this products is. It does come with a doe foot applicator making it easy to apply as it is nice and precise. What is also helpful is that the shade of the product is the shade of the bottle. Super easy to keep track of if you have multiples.
What does this product do?

Peripera has many Ink labelled products in their line. The Ink Velvet lipsticks are a liquid lipstick formula but one that isn’t drying or weird on the lips. This does dry down matte but it remains pliable and doesn’t stick down fully. Once worn down, this leaves a bit of a stay which means you can wear this in many ways: blot it down for a more bitten look, or wear it full on like I am wearing in this review today. The applicator makes this super easy to use and I love how the line includes some bolder colors. Often K-beauty has lots of muted shades (which I also love) but I appreciate how this has some fun bright shades.
How do these swatch?

Can we say BOOM pigment? Hello, these are some insanely pigmented liquid lipstick products. A little goes a long way and I would definitely make sure to wipe these off on the back of your hand or use a lip brush before applying because the applicator can be a bit too loaded for it to give you the control you need to apply such a bold color. These go on opaque in one swipe, last a long time, but because I am not a huge fan of liquid lipsticks at the moment, I don’t tend to wear these too often. Doesn’t mean these aren’t good though and I have hung on to these in my recent declutter precisely because these are some well-performing liquid lipsticks.
What do these look like on the lips?

Of course I have to show you what these look like on the lips. First up we have 16 Heart Fuchsia Pink and below we have 07 Girlish Red. I didn’t do a great job applying this. That chunkiness at the top lip isn’t the lipsticks fault, but entirely mine, but for a pink I think this is a great color. Exactly the kind of pink I like. It is bright without being too neon and pink but without it being too barbie girl. I like it! Girlish Red is a stunning orange toned red. A bit less unique of a color, but there is just something about the undertone and how bright this is that makes it unlike any other orange toned red I have in my collection.
My final thoughts

Boy did I find myself some great lipsticks with the Peripera Ink Velvet lipsticks. It comes in 16 different shades, also some neutrals, so this line has something for everyone. These are some insanely pigmented lipsticks and at this price point they really don’t break the bank. I mean I have tried many other liquid lipsticks that are just far more expensive than this is and that aren’t as great as these are. So with that said, I think these are some great lipsticks that more people should be raving about. That’s why I am kicking things off today.
Would I recommend the Peripera Ink Velvet liquid lipstick?
Yes I would! These are just really great, well-pigmented lipsticks that go on with one swipe. The packaging is great, easy to use and the product is quite affordable. You could spend a lot more on a lipstick and get less bang for you buck so these are definitely worth a try if you were to ask me.
