Looking for a great hydrating face oil? Then definitely read the review below as today’s Skincare Friday is all about the Herbivore Emerald face oil.

I don’t know about you, but my dry/ dehydrated skin needs all the hydration it can get. So when I spotted the Herbivore Emerald CBD oil, I was intrigued. This promises to be moisturizing, plumping the skin while not being irritating. Let’s try it out!
Skincare review: Herbivore Emerald Cannabis Sativa (hemp) Deep Moisture Glow face oil
Herbivore as a brand is not the most affordable brand on the market. This is definitely part of the more high end price range. It’s not horribly expensive for a face oil, but at €50 for a bottle this is definitely not cheap either.
You can buy the brand from several places: Sephora, Cult Beauty and Space NK all stock the brand. I bought mine from US Sephora.
What does this face oil have to offer?

The brand promises a lightweight oil that is hydrating and has lots of good for you ingredients. It can be used with many skin types including normal, dry and combo skin. It is vegan and cruelty free and it should help combat dryness and fine lines.
In short, it sounds like something I might like! I have dry skin that can be quite sensitive and my skin is going towards the more mature spectrum as I am in my late thirties. So fine lines? Check. Needs all the hydration and moisture it needs? Also check.
This is not my first trial of Herbivore products. I reviewed their Orchid face oil last spring and I liked it, but it had too strong of a scent for me. So I was hoping this would smell less strongly.
What are the ingredients like?

Let’s have a closer look a the ingredient list:
SQUALANE, CANNABIS SATIVA (HEMP) SEED OIL, CAPRYLIC /CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE (MCT/FRACTIONATED COCONUT OIL), WITHANIA SOMNIFERA (ASHWAGANDHA) LEAF EXTRACT (AND) HELIANTHUS ANNUUS (SUNFLOWER) SEED OIL, HELIANTHUS ANNUUS (SUNFLOWER) SEED OIL & LENTINUS EDODES (SHIITAKE) EXTRACT, LIMNANTHES ALBA (MEADOWFOAM) SEED OIL, BORAGO OCINALIS, TOCOPHERYL ACETATE (VITAMIN E), PROPRIETARY BLEND OF PURE ESSENTIAL OILS AND ABSOLUTES; MELIA AZADIRACHTA LEAF EXTRACT (AND) MELIA AZADIRACHTA FLOWER EXTRACT (AND) AMINO ESTERS-1 (EX MIMOSA TENUIFLORA) (AND) COCCINIA INDICA FRUIT EXTRACT (AND) SOLANUM MELONGENA (EGGPLANT) FRUIT EXTRACT (AND) ALOE BARBADENSIS FLOWER EXTRACT (AND) OCIMUM SANCTUM LEAF EXTRACT (AND) OCIMUM BASILICUM (BASIL) FLOWER/LEAF EXTRACT (AND) CURCUMA LONGA (TURMERIC) ROOT EXTRACT (AND) CORALLINA OCINALIS EXTRACT
One thing I love is that two of my favorite skincare ingredients are right at the top of the list. My skin loves squalane and CBD oil has been a recent discovery I love. It works great with dryness caused by dehydration.
In fact, the first part of the ingredients list consists of nothing but oils. There are no silicones or other cheaper filler products here at all. That explains that heftier price point.
What’s more: my skin loves this stuff. It is absorbed quickly and I have found that is has really been saving my skin lately. Unlike the Orchid face oil there is no strong lingering fragrance either. This feels just right.
Should you buy the Herbivore Emerald face oil?
Every time I use the Herbivore Emeral Face Oil I am very happy to use it. It is quite possibly one of the better face oils I have tried in a long time. My skin laps this up and loves it.
Yet, I don’t feel this necessarily warrants a repurchase. Why won’t I repurchase this straigth away? No. 1: it’s expensive. No. 2: it is harder to buy as I have to import it. No. 3: I am using this up very quickly! At this rate I think it will be gone by the end of the year and I have been using it for about 6 weeks at this point.
Will I repurchase this in the future? It may be possible I do. I love this and every product I love, I end up repurchasing in the end. However, there are some other brands on my to try list (mainly K-beauty) so I am not sure I will be getting round to repurchasing this any time soon.
Do you need this in your life? If you have dry/ dehyrated skin and you struggle with your skin just not loving life at the moment, then I would say: try this. It may just be that thing that helps your skin. Granted, you will need the cash to put towards this purchase and that may not be worth it to everyone. So please be mindful of your budget.
