Victoria Beckham Beauty Cream Blush Mini Skirt review

The second product I picked up when I shopped some Victoria Beckham Beauty products last summer? Their Cheeky Posh Cream Blush stick in Miniskirt. The first was the Lid Lustre in Mink and I loved it. Will I love this blush as much? Let’s find out in this review.

My main reason for purchasing some of these products is because I really enjoyed the look of some of the products when I first spotted these. These look and feel luxurious and I had heard good things about the formulas. Only downside: it’s an online only brand and at these price points I didn’t want to risk it. So I waited until I got to go to the boutique in London, swatched a few bits and took a decision on my two favorite products. With one a success, let’s find out if I love this as much.

Review: Victoria Beckham Beauty Cheeky Posh Cream Blush Stick in Miniskirt

First things first, the brand Victoria Beckham Beauty is a luxury makeup brand, like the clothing line that started it all. This blush therefore has a higher price tag. At €43 it is definitely one of the more expensive cream blushes I own. It is available in 7 shades of which Miniskirt seems to be the most popular.

What does this cream blush have to offer?

We can’t skip over that gorgeous packaging. Tortoise inspired packaging has been a staple for the Victoria Beckham line even way back when there was just a collab with another beauty brand. I like how they were able to keep that feel when the brand launched officially as a stand alone brand.

The packaging feels heavy and luxurious with a satisfying snap. The VB embossed into the stick add to the luxurious feel. What’s more this is supposed to have a satin, smooth, soft focus result that won’t disappear after a long day of wear. It features some extracts that add skin benefits and it can be worn bold and full on or you can opt for a sheerer application. This product is also safe for sensitive skin and vegan.

What does this product swatch like?

The shade Miniskirt is described as a berry rose and I think that is spot on. I normally don’t love nude tones in my cream blush but this is lovely on. It goes on quite full on and feels a bit tacky at first. However, if you keep blending it with your fingers it ends up looking like a pretty sheer version of this swatch above. This blush has no sparkle or shimmer: just a natural flushed look that I think will go with many different skin tones.

What does this look like on the face?

In case you’re new here it may be good to know that I love applying cream blush with fingers. It makes for such a seamless blend and that is what I get with this. Truthfully though, this product wasn’t love at first sight as it was with the Lid Lustre. This took some time getting used to.

The texture feels a bit tacky when you first apply this. And I disliked that at first. However, I have found that you need to keep blending this until it feels like a powder. Using the heat of your fingers, the tackiness will disappear and the result is an incredibly longwearing blush.

If you don’t blend this carefully though, your hair might get stuck to your cheek, which is why I had predicted I wouldn’t love this. Then I got the hang of it and it completely changed the game for me.

Should you buy the Victoria Beckham Cream Blush in Miniskirt?

I think this cream blush is a good product. It is definitely longwearing and I think if you are someone who struggles with cream blush staying put this may be worth a shot.

The shade Miniskirt is exactly as described: a berry rose. That said, when I used this for the first time I didn’t love the shade for me. But now that it’s been in my shop my stash I can tell: this is a great shade that goes with nearly every look I do.

Time to answer the million dollar question: is it worth it? At €43 this is just over what I would be willing to buy for such a product if I wasn’t constantly reviewing makeup. It’s a cream after all and they simply expire more quickly than a powder and this is a clean beauty brand which are notorious for having products turn more quickly than more traditional brands. Only time will tell. So unless you were planning on using this every day until it is gone, this may not be worth it in the end.

On a positive note though, as far as cream blush goes this is a good product that I think lots of people will enjoy. Please take the decision that best fits your budget.
