My Sydney Grace order finally arrived and I finally carved out a bit of time to swatch everything and have a good play around. So while this is late, I am still super chuffed and just had to rave about my new Sydney Grace bits!

This isn’t everything I got from Sydney Grace in their Christmas in July sale. If you want to see that: stay tuned for Friday because then I will show you everything! Today I just want to show you what I got in my mystery bags incl. all the swatches.
Sydney Grace Christmas in July Mystery Bags in Light + one in deep
These mystery bags were limited edition for the Christmas in July sale that was held… yes in July. But SG being a US brand and my friend who let me order with her having to wait a bit for the products being shipped and then her shipping it to me, meant it got a bit delayed. But better late then never because I am very happy to try all these bits. They retailed for $30 a piece but the one day you got one mystery bag for free if you bought two.
Sydney Grace Creams Mystery Bag Deep

THE new release this time round was their line of cream bronzer blush and highlight and I got a bunch to try. This version is in Deep which I didn’t order but my friend gifted it to me as she had one extra. I mainly kept it for the cream bronzer blush and highlight which are all too dark and warm toned for me, but I can definitely see myself working with these in the future. The powder and liquid eyeshadow were duplicates in the light version of the bag so I have decided not to swatch these and keep them for a giveaway.
Sydney Grace Creams Mystery Bag Light

So this is one that I ordered and as you can see product wise it’s the same as the deep but just with different color variations. I think it is great that Sydney Grace does both light and deep versions but I also wish they would add a choice for cool tones as well. Because this is the second year I got products and it’s the second time lot of products ended up being a bit warmer than I would want.

So inside is a liquid eyeshadow in the shade Divinity. As you can see it is a stunning mauve lilac tone that leans taupe. Totally up my street and I am happy to say that this shade was also in the deep bag so I have a double of this which I will end up giving away once my YT channel hits 10K subscribers (300 more to go!)
The three creams are a bit warm toned for my liking but still very usuable on my cheeks for sure. The bronzer is the thing I mostly worried about as it seems quite intensely pigmented. The blush and highlighter I am sure I can make work. Texture wise these creams feel more like a jelly texture so I am curious to see how these will apply and wear throughout the day.

Every bag I got came with single shadows: my favorite Sydney Grace product but I love the mystery bags as it is a great way to try more from the brand but at a lower price. The only thing that was different between the light and deep bag were the two mattes and I swapped some of it round to select the shades that appealed to me most. The shimmers were the same in both bags and my favorites in the entire selection I received.
Sydney Grace Latte Mystery Bag Light

In the Latte bag I received two more cream products, a lip product, a brush and 5 more single shadows. These were all centered around the latte makeup trend that was making the rounds at the start of summer this year. So it was mostly warm toned neutral browns but also some other pretty shades. The only thing I didn’t love here was the lip product. I cannot pull off a shade like that. The SG brushes are not my favorite so I have decided to keep it in its packaging and put it in a giveaway as well.

The two creams in this bag were my favorites out of everything I received. The peachy rosy blush will be perfect for me and the highlight? I mean, look at that sheen already in the pan. It’s a little less intense once applied it seems because these cream products have a very transparent base to them.

The 5 shadows I received are again super pretty but I feel the shimmers are far more cool toned than the mattes are. The mattes swatch a bit more cool toned on my skin so I hope these work better than I expect just by looking at them.
Sydney Grace Purples Mystery Bag

In this mystery bag I got another brush, 3 powder face products and 5 more eyeshadows. Overall I liked this one a lot as well, but in the end I had hoped to receive maybe more of their loose pigments and maybe another one of their liquid eyeshadows. Oh well, you can’t look a gift horse in the mouth and I feel that at $30 a piece these are good value for money.

The powder face products were very pretty. They bronzer is a lot lighter and I also have a powder blush in the most stunning pinky shade. The highligher is a stark contrast as it looks so intense but I love the hint of lavender it has. Last year I only got powder highlighters so this is a good opportunity to try more of their powder products.

And lastly, these are the purple eyeshadow I received which I all loved. The shimmer is my favorite (what else is new?!), but the deep shade is stunning too. Like with the neutral browns I feel the mattes are too warm toned for my liking to go with the shimmers seamlessly but I am sure I can make it work.
Should you buy the Sydney Grace Mystery Bags?
By now these have sadly sold out. They usually go quickly when the sale happens. However, the brand has consistently done these sales in July every year so just follow the brand on Instagram if you are interested and wait for the announcement.
