I am always on the hunt for a good night time lip balm. And then a friend gifted me this: the Dr. Lipp Original Nipple Balm. 100% natural and according to her it is one of the best night time lip balms ever made. So I just had to try it.

One thing that intrigued me is that this has one ingredient: filtered lanolin. It is supposed to work for dry skin and is promoted as a multi-use product that can be used in different ways as well as in different steps of your daily makeup & skincare routine. I love a good allrounder so I really wanted to try it.
Review: Dr. Lipp Original Nipple Balm
Let’s look at the price point first. The one I can find online comes in 15 ml packaging and costs €12 a pop. The one I tried is 8 ml so it is a smaller size that I believe my friend received as a gift with purchase. It is available from different retailers, but it seems to be most easly available in the UK.
What does this product have to offer?

So this comes with a bunch of claims. It is a thick balm that should help with dry, sore and itchy skin. I used it as a lip balm but you can use it in many different ways. It has a glossy finish so it can be worn by itself but the thick texture means this is best for night time use. A small tube lasted quite a long time, but the thick texture means it can be difficult to squeeze out the right amount.
According to the brand you can use this as a lip gloss, highlighter, eye gloss, brow gel, lip primer, pigment mixer, glitter glue, face primer for dry patches, flattening baby hairs and a cuticle/ nail balm. In short this is a versatile product but many of the uses are a little less practical due to the thick texture.
Should you buy the Dr. Lipp Original Nipple balm?

I loved this product a lot and I know that if I find it again when I am next in the UK. I do not wholly agree with the brand’s claim that this is multi-use. While it can certainly be used for more purposes, some of the suggestions would not work well as things would crease at this product does not settle down.
I mainly used it as a lip balm and what I noticed is that this creates a film that is still there by morning. While that makes it a great lip balm, I am not sure I would use it as an eye gloss, face primer or highlighter. That said, if you have super dry skin and you need something that can help soothe and hydrate the skin, I think this is one of the best things I have tried in a long time.
