Finding a good lip balm can be a feat but I have loved the C.O. Bigelow ones for a while now. While nothing can’t quite top my love for the Nuxe Rêve de Miel (I have to buy one again!), I don’t mind trying other things. Let’s review the C.O. Bigelow My Favorite Lip Balm No. 303.

C.O. Bigelow is a US based skincare brand that I was introduced to in a makeup swap a few years ago by someone from Canada. We followed each other’s blogs and decided to buy each other makeup for a certain monetary value and she gifted me two C.O. Bigelow lip balms. Only to not be able to find this brand anywhere where I live. But now I have a new one!
Review: C.O. Bigelow My Favorite Lip Balm
I bought mine in the UK, from Liberty’s to be exact but they don’t seem to stock the full range of the brand anywhere in Europe. I have find an online retailer where it is not too expensive (around €10 for a lip balm) but when I once tried to place an order through their official website, I would be hit with a $40 shipping fee and that didn’t include the customs fees, so I passed up on it.
What does this product have to offer?

Since this brand is hard for me to buy, I don’t know much about them. They are styled in a similar style to other apothecary type skincare brands like Kiehl’s. My Favorite Lip Balm is a standard lip balm that should have great ingredients such as butters and oils that should help nourish your lips. In the past, I tried their Vanilla, Mint and night time balm. I liked all of those better than I did this one but this one is unscented and a no frills lip balm.
Does this lip balm work?

I like this lip balm a lot but it is not great for the night time. It works in a pinch but I don’t find it rich enough for an overnight lip balm. It works best in the morning before I apply lipstick. I put this on at the start of my makeup routine, let it sink in and wipe off the excess before applying my lipstick. The result? Nourished, hydrated lips with no cracking and a longwearing lipstick and easy application.
Should you buy C.O. Bigelow My Favorite Lip Balm?
Yes and no. Objectively this is a great lip balm, but I will not be repurchasing this. It is a bit big and bulky and while lovely it melts too much if the temperature gets over a certain point. So during the summer months I got a lot of oil and not the actual balm as the prodcuts seemingly melted and became slightly separated in the tube. I have tried other lip balms that I like as much that don’t do that and that are easier for me to get.
