Byoma skincare mini set review

A hyped up skincare brand I wanted to try? Byoma! And what better way to try them than by using a kit that has some minis in. I already knew I loved the Milky Oil Cleanser, so I was curious to see how much I would like these minis. Let’s review the Byoma Hydrating Starter Kit.

This set seems to have two names online depending on the retailer. Mine is called the So Hydrated Set but it’s also sold under the Hydrating Starter Kit name. It features the Creamy Jelly Cleanser, the Moisturizing Gel-Cream and Hydrating Serum. Sadly none of these products were quite right for me.

Skincare review: Byoma So Hydrated Set

This set is pretty widely available. One thing I love about Byoma is the fact that they are quite affordable. This set retails for under €20 in most places which I find a great price point to try some more products. I got mine from Sephora, but you can find this at any retailer that sells Byoma.

What does this product have to offer?

Apart from great bang for your buck, this little set features some products that are from the more hydrating options Byoma offers. I have dry skin that can be quite sensitive. Finding good skincare is a challenge as I need something that does enough but that doesn’t trigger any redness, itchiness or bumps. These products aren’t quite effective enough to really be of benefit to my skin, but they also didn’t cause any irritation.

Why didn’t these products work for me?

I really wanted to love these little Byoma minis. The Hydrating Serum was my favorite of the three products but this being half a size it ran out super quickly. It is also a weirdly thick substance which meant I also used a lot and it ran out even quicker.

The Moisturizing Gel-Cream is a nice product but just a touch too lightweight for my skin’s dryness. I felt when I put this on as if I hadn’t even used moisturizer right after applying it.

The Creamy Jelly Cleanser was my least favorite. Yes it is a good cleanser that gets the job done, but it has a weird slip and scent and it seemed to be too drying for my skin. The more I used it, the drier my skin felt, even in the midst of summer.

So yes, I love Milky Oil Cleanser and will stick to that for now. I don’t think there are too many other things the brand offers that I might like. I kind of like the look of the skin barrier serum that was released this year so I may want to try that at some point, but these weren’t a great success for me.
